Questions & Answers
RexBeTi's RBDC02 digital caliper is made of stainless steel of the highest quality. It glides more smoothly than other calipers with a poor finish, and it will definitely show you the precision measurements you desire!
Sure, the applications are endless, ranging from toys to weapons, tools, plants, and automotive design. An excellent caliper will provide you with more enjoyment. I work as a jewelry designer and have at least ten calipers on my desk. But I always bring this one to work with me, perhaps because it's so smooth.
It returns to the last setting you had when you turned it off. After all, switching from one mode to the other is as simple as pressing a button.
You can zero it at any time, and I find it to be very accurate. I am content.

3rd April 2019 update. The seller contacted me after reading my review to try to work out a solution. I received a new/updated set of calipers, which appear to be in perfect working order. I was told it could have been the battery, and that an extra battery is included in the case, so if you're having issues like the screen not turning off or jumping, try that first. I've updated my overall rating to 4 stars after my 5-star customer service experience, deducting one star for having the problem in the first place. Good buy. br>br>The calipers work well - I can get them to turn off and stay off and do the job, but I'm having a hard time getting them to do so! It irritates me to no end! I press the button, nope, it's still on, and I press it again, nope. Finally, I'm able to turn off the lights, just in case they turn back on by themselves! Then it's a matter of pressing the button again to see if they'll turn off and stay off. It's a huge pain! Spend a little more on another set if you want to save battery life. You won't save money with these if you have to replace batteries all the time, and unscrewing to remove them every time you use them is a pain.
Because my analog one has millimeters and inches on the stick but only inches on the dial, it was impossible to be very precise when measuring in metric without using math conversions. br>br>With this fantastic little digital tool, it's all too simple! It can do metric, inches, and even fractions for architectural work at the touch of a button! For quick measurements, the stick has both millimeters and inches printed on it. Both the stick and the LCD screen are very easy to read, and after comparing a few feeler gauges, they appear to be perfectly accurate. The LCD casing is made entirely of metal, and the edges are all nicely finished, with no unnecessary sharp corners. It was packaged nicely in a blow-molded box. a molded plastic case with a battery installed, a spare battery, a battery change screwdriver, and the instruction manual br>br>Honestly, the only way I'd be happier is if it were a robot that did everything for me and told me what the measurement was. But I can't afford it, so this will suffice!.
No problem, a spec or two of "3 in 1" oil in the middle of the wheel smoothed it out and now it's quiet and slides smooth like a more expensive one. This issue has come up in a few reviews, so there you go.
Mechanicals and materials of high quality. Cheap calipers will stay bent when you slightly flex the beam, and the jaws will wear out quickly, so I bought these because they claim to be hardened. These appear to have been hardened, as stated. They work well enough, and the buttons are spaced, materialized, and have the right "feel" to them. The display/slider is compact and well-designed. shaped. All of this adds up to a tool that is enjoyable to use. The last three digits in inch/decimal mode are the only thing I don't like. The numbers are too small, and the fact that they are smaller makes them difficult to read. I suppose I'll grow accustomed to it. I assume they reduced the size of the three least significant numbers to improve battery life; if battery life is good, 4 stars. If not, move on to step 3. 5 stars.
So far, this little caliper has left a lasting impression on me. This caliper has been used to measure head bolts on a Mazda engine. It has three different measurements, but I mostly use mm and inches. It's all the way down to. It has a precision of 1mm, making it ideal for inspecting engine tolerances. I was able to easily slide and check the bolts because it has a nice thumb adjustment. It has a screw on the top to lock in the measurement, and even if it didn't have one, you'd have to move it to get it to change. However, there are buttons for changing options and for turning on/off the computer. You can tell you've pressed them because they have a nice feel to them. The body is made of what appears to be full aluminum, giving it a nice weight and allowing it to fit snugly into the included carrying case. My battery came with an extra and a screwdriver to replace it, though the screwdriver doesn't fit in the case as well as it should. Overall, I'm blown away by such a low-cost solution. It's a user-friendly product with a premium feel. For the next few years, I believe this will be sufficient.
Good quality, consistent, smooth, and well-balanced feeling. For the money, it's a good deal. I have a six-inch Mitutoya dial caliper that I use for machinist work, but saw dust can ruin the rack and pinon gear, so I bought these for woodworking. Now I believe they're suitable for machinist work as well. I like that I don't have to turn them on to use them; simply move your head and they turn on. You also don't have to zero them out every time; they continue from where they were turned off. I've had them for a few weeks now and am very pleased with my purchase.
It depends on what you want to accomplish with the tool, just like everything else. If you're looking for a way to be more precise, I'd get a better set if the number was 001 or higher. When you move the jaws, it automatically turns on, which is a useful feature. I don't use fractions because they're nice. It doesn't need to be re-measured because it maintains its measurement well. The biggest flaw would be the hole diameter measuring jaws, which would be zeroed all of the time. br>The biggest flaw would be the hole diameter measuring jaws, which would be zeroed all of the time. My set was sharp, and it tended to bite into plastics, making measurements more difficult. It also lacked a good flat. It's also more difficult to zero the hole than it is to put the jaws together and press 0. You won't be able to tell if that part doesn't line up because it depends on the edge matching the lower jaws. My comparison is to a $200 12" Mitutoyo digital. So, if they meet your needs, they're a good deal.
