There is no such thing as ferrous (non magnetic) aluminum.

If soaked in water, will it corrode?

The material is aluminum, so salt water will corrode it fairly quickly. Fresh water will keep it more durable. An excellent source of information

It was my intention to get my Harley FXR's horn relocated to the front of the frame from under the battery box but I couldn't find a decent looking bracket with the right design to do so. Despite the fact that this item was far more aluminum than I needed, I ordered it because the price was right. Moreover, it was both plastic and aluminum clad on both sides, and the thickness and size of the aluminum were as expected. The material was easy to work with and after some time with the hacksaw, files, spindle sander and drill, it was quite efficient With my skills, I was able to make an inexpensive horn bracket that is functional and attractive. As well, it was easy to finish the task. These are the results of a quick 320-sanding, followed by a 600-sanding followed by a Mothers hand polish. The bracket I made turned out to be large enough to use for other projects, as well as A win-win situation.

Cut it up to make some 1/4" thick mounting plates, and it was just perfect for what I needed it for. Although the overall length and width of the product weren't exactly correct, the thickness was perfect and to me, that was what matters most. In the event you need something that's exactly 12x6, it may be better to look elsewhere, but if you are going to cut it up, this should be.

Using aluminum sheets 6" x 12" for many projects is a great idea. To make Harley stand supports, I cut it into three pieces and make jiffy stands from them. One end of the rope was holed, and I attached a cable to the other end so it could go Light but durable, aluminum is a great material. Other projects will require me to purchase more.
