It's likely that you'd require a cut-out. off saw.

Is it possible to use this as a floor covering?

It's not something I'd put down as a floor. Metal, to be precise. I covered a hole in a trailer with my piece.

Replacement stereo system for RVs This was used to cover a large hole in an RV stereo head unit that needed to be replaced

To prevent the stereo from draining the RV batteries, cut out a single DIN hole for the new stereo and a round hole for a switch to simulate having an ignition feed. This project has a fantastic solution.
