It's not clear to me. I have been using them for more than a year and I am satisfied with them. I cut pouches with them.
Unfortunately, they did not work for me as a lefty.
Although this may be what they sell now, what I received was the image turned around to point to the left and the top blade raised. However, I think it is likely that the picture negative has been turned backwards, rather than the model being adjusted. There is a mistake if the print copy is used. I have a very nice set.
It is for bandage materials that are soft.

Over the course of my nursing career, I have used many different kinds of scissors and they have all worked just fine. I misplaced my old bandage shears so I googled the term "good nursing scissors", and this came up as the top choice In addition to purchasing me and my wife pairs, I bought a friend a pair as well. As I was working on my first patient of the day, I had to cut through some gauze and was shocked that these scissors could not handle the task. An area of 2mm in length at each end of the blade was effectively The packaging has already been thrown away because it was absolutely outrageous and unacceptable. It has been a long time since I used a pair of scissors so thin.
It was very dell to use these scissors. Despite their best efforts, they refused to remove my husband's bandages. It was necessary for me to sharpen them. I am sure that they aren't the most expensive scissors in the world. The knives at least cut after being sharpened. Surgery cannot be done with them in any way. Despite their small size, they fit a small hand like mine very comfortably. I could have bought a better quality product for what it cost me to purchase and the fee to sharpen it. I am saying I could have just got one as opposed to having it sharpened.
There are several rough spots on the nib, and it is quite small and misshaped. In general, the shears are a bit flimsy with way too much flex for actual cutting. With a cheap price tag it's no problem to touch up the sharpness on a plain blade (if it is steel of decent quality), but when the blades spread or the handles twist, there is not much you can do but try tiny bites or get a different I would not recommend these as a serious work or learning tool. They might work for changing light dressings on one or two patients, but I could not recommend them as a disposable or expendable tool. My goal was to fill a compact backcountry/austere kit with a decent Lister - these will not do the job. Four years ago, I took a fourth grade course This 1/2" pair is better than a 7" pair in all respects, but we wanted something bigger without going to a 7" Shears that are 1/2 inch Lister or EMS. Stay on the lookout.
The bandage scissors I purchased finally arrived, and thanks be to God. It was taking longer and longer for my normal scissors to cut through layers of gauze, and I was concerned about accidentally cutting my mother. This is a great pair of scissors. One side of the device slides along the leg and cuts through the gauze easily. Since the stainless steel is not corroding, they will last a long time. These scissors are great! I am very happy with them.
It is not easy to find scissors that do the job and meet school standards for young kids. The majority of scissors for kids are of no use. This is a great product. I always have them with me and they never fall out of my pocket. As soon as they get dirty, I can clip them to my badge so that I don't have to carry them around. A downside to these scissors is that their bottom lip juts out more than their top lip. It's a little tricky to make the first cut when you fix an IV dressing or something like that. As long as this is a common design, no points will be deducted. Because they contain no plastic or weird corners, they are easy to maintain.
In line with the description, it appears that these scissors are just what you would expect. I've used them for home health care (I take care of an elderly relative), and they work perfectly. With one blunted blade, I guarantee that I won't cut or scratch my relative when removing bandages or protecting them from harm. As far as durability goes, I give them four stars because that is my expectation, but after only a week of use, I still expect them to last for years.
A pair of scissors that cut low to medium thickness and are useful for cutting osteomyelitis barriers and other items nurses use on the job.
