Despite the fact that these sutures are not officially designated as "sterile sutures for surgery" due to regulatory concerns, they are genuine sutures. They're perfect for my earthquake kit, camping, first aid, and SHTF go bag because they'll keep you safe in an emergency.
This has been fantastic for me as a PA student. Because nylon sutures have a higher risk of tearing the board than silk sutures, start with silk when you're learning!.
In the navy, I worked as a dive medic. I bought these to keep in my bug bag in case of an emergency. I used one on my daughter, and it's of the same high quality as the ones I was given while in the military.
This is an excellent item to have on hand in case of an emergency. I had a large gash in my arm that I was able to sew up with ease and speed using this set of sutures, and the scar is barely visible! However, if you have no experience with trauma wound care, I strongly advise you to seek medical attention for your injury! br>This is a must-have item for preppers because you never know what might happen. If you don't have easy access to a healthcare professional, you can at least keep the wound closed until you do!.
I'd never used sutures before, and I was only using them to sew small holes in leather boots rather than suturing, but I was very pleased with them. I was able to bend the needles to the small shape that I needed for my particular shape, and I was worried that they would break, but they held up to a few bends and reshapes without breaking, despite sewing through some fairly thick leather. The thread held up well, and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. If you're a first-time user and aren't sure what to try, these are a good place to start. I was also using needle holders instead of doing it by hand, so make sure you get some of those.
These are great if you need real sutures and don't mind that they're past their expiration date (which probably means nothing since they've never used expiration dates before).
Suture material and gauge combination is excellent. It's useful to be able to see the differences between different types of sutures as a medical student. In addition, the seller sent me a PDF with descriptions and indications for the various types of sutures.
The packaging was attractive, and each suture set was neatly packaged. Unfortunately, the needle is too small, and some of the sutures are prone to ripping. Sutures that were not as strong as thread were used in some cases.
