These cheap pillow bearings are good for one use, at best. If I were planning to use them off-project or temporarily, I would never expect them to last I also find them too poorly machined to rotate properly in their pocket housing, putting my faith in quality control to question.
For a project, I bought four packs of these bearings (16 bearings in total). Out of the sixteen, only four had the bearings seated directly Straightening them would take some work, but using large slip joint pliers helped me. They can be made right, but they will need some more work.
It is necessary to use a hammer and flat screwdriver to gently knock the central bearing into alignment. The bearings will not align themselves. All the holes where the set screws were retained were immediately stripped. The holes for the next size were also stripped when I tapped them. Metals that are poorly cast for a low price. We had to manufacture a metal collar, epoxy it to the part, and install a set screw into it.
The two orders I received each had four items in each. There were 3 bearings that turned smoothly in the first order. In the beginning, the 4th was hard, but then had a gritty feel to it. Having to carry so much weight would have put an end to it. . . . I just received a new order from Amazon (4 new items). In the second group of 4, the problem was the same. In 3 cases, the wheels turned smoothly, in 1 case the wheels felt gritty (unlike Thank goodness, Amazon let me keep my first order, so all in all I have all the items The only thing to beware of is that I ordered twice and one of the orders was defective (both times).
You'll find two set screws here, which are used to hold the shaft in place. Due to the tiny size of these screws, they must be mounted using An allen wrench of 5 mm is used, and they are partially hidden in This is a very difficult thing to do.
I was satisfied with the first set of bearings I ordered. Among the four bearings ordered for the second order, three were defective. If that is all you can do for me, I won't be ordering again!.
There was a slight misalignment in the bearing. The problem was fixed, but it took a while.
Were broke.
