Questions & Answers

Will a TS100 iron fit in here?

It securely holds my TS100, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Is this the correct Hakko FX 601 holder?

Yes. HakkoUSA is a great place to start. Look up FX 601 on the internet, and under accessories, you'll find two options. This model, as well as one with a sponge, are available.

Is the gold brass sponge holder included with this stand, or do I need to buy it separately?

The cleaning sponge has a metal brass tip and comes with a holder. I placed an order for a Hakko Iron Holder 633. Last year, I used the 599B and the Hakko Desoldering Kit, as well as the 808 Desoldering Gun, 120 VAC with built-in vacuum pump. Feb. 2013 The 633- The Hakko 808 and soldering irons both work well with the 01 holder. The 808 is a fantastic little tool for making pin through hole parts, and this holder complements it perfectly. Why is there a cell phone cover in the picture?

I'm not sure I'd order this. This is NOT the item's picture: Hakko 633-Hakko 633-Hakko 633 599B Tip Cleaner and 1 Soldering Iron Holder HakkoUSA is a great place to start. Before you decide to order, go to com and look at the picture and description. This is, in some ways, a blunder.

The Hakko FR- is not compatible with this product
3/5

301 This soldering iron holder is well constructed and offers good value for the money. Unfortunately, many people believe that this is an adequate soldering iron holder for the FR-200. 301 The iron has a hard time fitting into the Bakelite portion of the holder. To be honest, I think it's dangerous when combined with the FR-X. 301 In the Hakko FR-, the recommended holder is The C1100 can be found at 301. For some reason, American Hakko does not sell the C1100 on Amazon. br>br>Amazon also recommends the 633- in its frequently purchased together window. Despite the fact that these are being purchased for the FR- Due to the ill-advised nature of 301, it should be dropped as a suggestion. When placed in the holder, it fits perfectly. When combined with the FR-X, it's a recipe for disaster in my opinion. 301 I'll admit that I have a strong feeling about the 633-number. When used according to the manufacturer's instructions and with the recommended iron, 01 is a good product.

It's nearly perfect, but what I like best about the soldering iron holder is that, unlike cheaper models, the heating element and tip, which are the hot parts, do not rest against any metal to cool down, and it takes more energy to heat the metal if you have a temperature controlled iron
5/5

When you connect a heat sink to a heat source, it draws energy from that source, in this case heatbr>br>However, the problem with virtually all soldering iron holders is that by design, they take those parts and secure them against something that the iron must heat. If you're using a cheap $10 iron, this isn't a big deal, but I have temperature-controlled irons, which means that when something comes in contact with the heating element that's drawing the heat away from the room, more power is dumped into the iron to keep it at the desired temperature. In fact, whatever is up against the heating element and the iron is constantly heated above room temperature, so it's continuously losing it. br>br>This unit also has good rubber feet, and I'm not sure if there's a way to put a sponge in the round hole in the front, but you're not limited to the brass Brillo pad, as it simply comes out of the hole. The only flaw with this unit is that it isn't as heavy as it should be. It'll suffice in high-volume situations. end irons with very flexible cords that run from the heating element to the actual drive unit, but any irons under $100 or so will have stiff cords, and as we all know, if you put a stiff cord in a holder, the holder will fly away because they are so light. br>br>I'll look into attaching some heavier weight to the bottom rear of this unit because it does an excellent job of keeping the iron away from anything touching it, except the insulated collar at the top, as it should. The hakko FX88, as well as a few of my less expensive irons on the bench, fit perfectly in there. br>br>I wish there was a way to measure it so you could see if your iron would fit snugly or flop around in the holder, but all I can say is that a medium-priced iron fits well. br>br>This is one of those products that is just good enough for me to hack into a perfect product with minimal effort.

The iron tip scrubber is securely held by this good-quality scrubber
5/5

This is a high-quality holder for your soldering iron, and it clamps your waterless scrubber in place. Personally, I despise having my soldering iron on my electronic workbench because it is always in the back, where the temperature readout is obscured, and the scrubber is out of reach. When you move it forward, it gradually moves backwards. So I got one of these, bent up the soldering iron holder, drilled two holes in it, and hung it behind the shelf. The iron controller is now on a shelf at eye level, my iron is within easy reach, and the scrubber never moves. I hid the tip activator tin behind the scrubber, and now I have a compact iron holder with all of its accessories right where I need it. This book comes highly recommended.

This iron holder is both attractive and functional
5/5

The Hakko FX-II is what I have. I'm a big fan of the 888D soldering iron. However, I am not a huge fan of the iron holder that comes with it. It's the same yellow and blue color scheme as the box, and I think it's a little unattractive. Not only that, but the sponge is useless because it has a brass sponge (brass sponge extends the life of your tip and does not cool it down), but the opening to the brass sponge holder is annoyingly small/narrow. I was concerned about how well this would hold up to my FX-heavy workload. I was apprehensive about using the 888D wand because I couldn't find any user reviews, but my fears were unfounded. This item fulfills all of my requirements for a holder:

- Beautiful and fashionablebr>- FX-Holds the FX-Holds the FX-Hold Perfect for the 888D wandbr>- Has an antidote I imagine it would hold just about any iron if you pushed about 2" past the opening that keeps your wand perfectly aligned vertically. Has a sponge holder made of brass with a large enough openingbr>- It's big/heavy enough to keep it from sliding around without taking up too much room. br>br>It's a little bigger than I expected, but not by much. I highly recommend this iron holder to anyone looking for a practical iron holder, especially since it includes a brass sponge and a brass sponge holder. If you have an FX-compatible device, you should use it. 888D I also strongly advise you to look into the T18- BR02 tip. The tip is bent at about 30 degrees, making it very easy to get into tight spaces and allowing you to hold the end of the tip flush against the PCB while maintaining a comfortable angle with your hand. Without it, I couldn't imagine using an iron; I was spoiled.

It's perfect for Yihua handles
4/5

This is almost exactly what I was looking for in a better iron holder than the one that came with my Yihua 937D soldering station. I have both the 907D and 907F handles, and they are both very comfortable to use. In fact, the station's holder tends to catch, preventing the irons from sliding smoothly in and out. That is not a problem for this holder. I like how it securely holds the tip cleaner. br>br> The lack of a sponge is a minor drawback, but it isn't a deal-breaker. The brass tip cleaner is something I use a lot more.
