Questions & Answers

Is it possible to set the heat to a specific temperature and keep it there?

No, it will remain at 500 degrees Fahrenheit while in use.

Is there a way to use this without the cord?

Nope. The device does not have an internal power source, so you must connect to the battery module.

Is it possible to obtain nozzles? Specifically, the heat shrink tubing curved nozzle?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. We are unable to provide specialized nozzles due to a lack of available equipment. You might be able to find them at your neighborhood hardware store.

Does it work with a 220W power supply?

Are you enquiring about the AC charger's compatibility with 220V (rather than 220W)? If that's the case, the charger appears to be for 120V only and is labeled: "Input/Entree/Entrada: : : : : : : : : : I also checked the other faster chargers on the worx site, and they all say 120V only.

Selected User Reviews For Worx MAKERX WX743L.9 20V Mini Heat Gun (Tool Only)

I was on the fence about it at first, but now I'm sold
5/5

(3/20/21): There has been a change in the status of the project. I used the heat-resistant material. Using a soldering iron and a soldering gun, connect a 24/12v converter to a battery bank via a 4-pin connector. Block for port terminals. br>br>Summary: br>br> I've been using rotary tools long enough to recall when the extension shaft was the first real Dremel accessory. Similar to the previous example, you've moved the power source away from the part you're holding, resulting in a lighter tool. br>br>Previously, we looked at the WX739L Rotary only tool combo (see video below): br> I used the included 3/4" cut-off wheel to put the rotary grinder (Dremel equivalent) to the test. cut a 1" section from a 3/32" thick curtain rod bracket off the wheel In that review, there is more information. br>2) I then turned my attention to the Angle Grinder. The 2" disc should suffice for most small jobs, and it would be ideal for cutting off bolts and round stock. The brushless motor appeals to me because it is the most recent technology, resulting in more efficient and cooler operation. You can slow the speed down to a crawl, as I demonstrated in the video. br>3) Last but not least, I used the soldering iron. I had been looking forward to this for the majority of my life, having soldered just about everything. However, in comparison to what the digital readout indicated, the temperature appears to be quite low. It heats up quickly and then cools down quickly. For the time being, I'm giving it a fair rating because I need to do more testing. One thing to keep in mind is that you will almost certainly need to raise the heat much higher than the instructions suggest. Recommendations: br>br> br>1) When you have a lot of tools, these tool systems make a lot of sense. The rotary tool, angle grinder, and soldering iron are all included in this MakerX package, which also includes an air brush. They'll most likely release more tools in the future, I'm sure. Many Worx 20v tools can be used with the 20v Power Share. The heat gun is the only item available for purchase separately, rather than as part of a set. The mini heat gun is something I intend to purchase. Although the reviews are mixed, I would prefer to shrink heat wrap with a mini heat gun rather than a lighter. br>2) I used a 2-inch angle grinder for the soldering iron accessories and a 2-inch angle grinder for the angle grinder. I used a Sistema container with compartments (link below) and added some foam to keep the bits from rattling around. It came out great, in my opinion. All the little bits are right there at your fingertips when you drop it inside the bag. Advantages: br>br> a good match finish; rotary and angle grinders with brushless motors 20v Power Share is a set of tools that allows you to share 20 volts of electricity with others It also comes with a tool bag. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. Several cautionary statements stickers with warnings; The temperature of the soldering iron is not extremely high. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> I give this set a 5-star rating because it costs $170. I would recommend this WX991L set over the smaller/lower-cost alternatives (such as the $100 rotary). Take some time to figure out which kit would be best for your needs and budget. However, the concept is sound
3/5

The majority of the Worx Maker X tools have been purchased by me. The idea of interchangeable tools on a single controller and battery piqued my interest, especially for use on an older sailboat where projects are always in the works. My use of the tools is probably a little more than Worx intended for the Maker X system, but I decided to give them a try because I already had a number of Worx tools and batteries. In terms of utility and functionality, I would give the devices a two to five star rating so far. The heat gun is positioned in the center of the table. It's helpful, but only to a certain extent. It has trouble producing a lot of heat when it's powered by a battery. Heat-sensitive tapes will be shrunk, but at a slow rate. Some plastics can be shaped with it, but PVC pipe is a bridge too far for most people. It is possible to strip paint, but it will take a long time, and it will only work in small, tight spaces. The battery life is adequate, though the heat gun, as expected, quickly depletes the battery. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase, but my enthusiasm for the heat gun is a little tempered. I had to contact customer service to replace a broken controller, but it was a pleasant experience.

It's a breeze to use! I'm in love with my new heat gun! I'm not used to using 'power tools,' but this is incredibly simple to operate
5/5

It heats up instantly, has a nice hand-held shape, and the interchangeable battery makes it super easy to use. This was the first time I used it for the project you can see above - hand-lettered wood ornaments (as well as a cute wood door hanging sign) using a scorch pyrography marker I love how they turned out, and they were so simple to make. I'm really looking forward to embossing with it. different types of crafts.

Heat up quickly- up, a blast of sweltering air I really like how quickly this gets hot enough to use
5/5

It quickly reaches its maximum temperature. br>I purchased this to aid in the removal of some old rusted nails, which it did. I like that it's part of the MAKERx line of products, which means it'll work with all of my batteries and other accessories. br>br>It is lightweight, simple to operate, and quick to complete. I would strongly suggest it.

It's entertaining to work with
5/5

For light duty, I went with the Worx dermal type tool. The size was appealing, as was the fact that it was rechargeable. Building speaker cables is something I enjoy doing. They need to be heat shrunk. I dislike juggling lighters and butane torches, and a heat gun appeared to be both expensive and bulky, as well as potentially dangerous. br>In comes this fantastic little device, which is just right in terms of size and price. It's a joy to work with, owing to its maneuverability. br>Another advantage is that it cools down quickly once you turn it off. As a result, it can be put away quickly and easily. It consumes a significant amount of battery life. br> I'm thinking about getting a new battery. However, once you factor in the price of a heat gun, things get a little more complicated. If you have small, quick jobs, such as heat shrink, this is the way to go. It's exactly what I was looking for. This book comes highly recommended.

Love it - Worx's tool of choice! When I needed to use heat, I used small torches

In the field, we use shrink fittings and tubing. It's a lot nicer this way. There isn't a chance that anything will burn or melt!.

This is an excellent tool
5/5

WORX tools have always appealed to me, and I own a number of them; the quality is consistently high, and the prices are reasonable. br>At first, I wanted a full-size rechargeable heat gun, but the price and quality didn't appeal to me. Then I came across the WORX line, and I was blown away by the heat gun's quality and performance. br> br>I love how light it is and how I can take it outside without having to worry about a power cord. br>It's much larger than I anticipated and performs admirably. br>In the future, I plan to add more hobby tools.
