Selected User Reviews For Weller 6966C 250 Watts Electric Industrial Heat Gun
Most shops, in an attempt to heat shrink some tubing on a connector, use one of those heavy industrial heat guns for smaller subassemblies and their wiring, blasting heat into the pcbs and on sensitive components. br>This isn't the case. This directs the exact amount of heat to where it's needed. br>And it doesn't do it with 1500 Watts of power. br>I was going to give it five stars, but it has an annoying habit of falling over all the time. Its design prevents it from resting on a table in a stable position. Even so, for today's miniature and micro electronic devices, it's unbeatable.
I've been using the original model for a long time. Because I misplaced the original, I purchased this as a replacement. The new gun appears to be identical to the old one in terms of functionality. Because the deflector hoods appear to be made of a softer material, you must be careful not to lose the tips. The tips' fit and finish are also inferior to the originals. You might want to use a small hose clamp to keep the tips in place.
The Welder 6966c is a heat gun with a low wattage and low CFM air flow. Yes, it is stated in the specifications, but it only has limited capabilities. Heating shrink tubing larger than 3/8" is too small and slow with this device. I went with the Steinel HL 2020 E because of the price range. Yes, it is twice the size, but I am completely satisfied with all of its features.
It was purchased to replace one that had been lost during a move and was many years old. It's perfect for shrinking heat shrinkable tubing, and I highly recommend it for that purpose. The hot air is distributed around the tubing by one of the fittings that came with it. It wouldn't work well in situations requiring a lot of heat, such as thawing frozen pipes, but that's not what it's designed for.
It really works. from a well-known brand.
This is a fantastic product. br>Necessary for performing pin changes on cellular memory cards.
I wish I had purchased this a long time ago. It's excellent for use in hot environments. shrink tubing that fits into tight spaces to be shrunk So far, it appears to be an excellent tool. br>br>I'm taking a star away from Weller because of their poor quality control. One of the heat nozzles, 6956, was missing when my heat gun arrived, and it was the only one I needed. Because Amazon couldn't replace this $2 part on its own, the heat gun had to be returned and replaced as a whole. All four nozzles were present in the replacement.
Everything worked out perfectly. There was nothing wrong with anything.
