First and foremost, the product is simple to use. The instructions are clear and simple, and the controls are simple to understand. That is a huge plus in and of itself. The next step is to put it to use. I bought the heat gun to help remove paint from areas on my porch where neither a sander nor sandpaper without removing my knuckles could reach. I started with a lower temperature and was pleased to see that the readout informed me when it had reached the desired temperature, and I was astounded by how quickly it had done so. I used the attached scraper to apply heat, and wow, the paint that had four layers on top of the original 20-year-old base layer came right off; it was so quick and easy that I was truly amazed. Scraping butter from bread is a good analogy. I was overjoyed that I didn't have to deal with the sanding mess; I despise dust!! It was also a lot less difficult. Instead of sanding, I'm going to use this all the time! I adored this heat gun; it was everything a tool should be, and it made the project go more smoothly. br>While I was at it, marveling at how simple it was to use, I decided to try to smooth out a rough chip in the composite porch swing. I started at 200°F and gradually increased the temperature because I wasn't sure what temperature would melt it enough for me to smooth it out. NOTE* I had previously tried to sand the spot but it was too rough and tore up the sand paper too much, so I ended up at 800* and it got the job done; the chip is now smoothed out and nothing negative happened to the rest. Next up was a bolt that had sheared off the garage door arm. br>It was efficient and effective once again. My father once told me that heating a stuck bolt can help loosen it. So the part of the bolt where you're supposed to use a wrench to get it in and out sheared off, and when I tried to get it out on the bit of thread that was sticking out with a wrench, it wouldn't budge. So I used the heat gun, set it to 600°F, and warmed up the bolt on both sides before attempting to remove it with a wrench. br>I'm looking forward to using this heat gun in the future because it was so simple to use and effective; it's definitely very powerful and helped me complete my tasks faster.

I made some PVC adapters for my shop using this heat gun. It performed admirably, and I intend to use it for other tasks around the house and in the shop in the future.

The digital display and fan setting are very appealing to me. I bought it to make encaustic paintings, so seeing the digital readout and being able to be precise with the temperature is very important to me.

I bought this heat gun for a variety of projects around the house, including using shrink tubing to clean up network and AV wires, stripping paint off old furniture, crafting, and even lighting BBQ briquets because it was mentioned in the product description. I was very pleased with the performance in all of the tasks and especially liked that I could control the temperature, the LCD was clear and displayed actual temperature, the tool's weight balance, and the accessories. I'm excited to try out my new heat gun on some other household projects.
