The SEEKONE Digital LCD Display 1800W Heat Gun has a powerful heating element that quickly heats up to 1100°F (600°C) in seconds. [I: 120°F-750°F (50°C-400°C); II: 120°F-1100°F (50°C-600°C)] [I: 120°F-750°F (50°C-400°C); II: 120°F-1100°F (50°C-600°C)] [I: 120°F-1100°F (50°C-600°C)] [I: 120°F-1100° With a long press, it can rapidly adjust the temperature. By running at maximum temperature for 500 hours, a professional heater delivers outstanding results.
SEEKONE DIY heat gun digital control with large LCD display allows you to precisely adjust air volume and temperature, and the used temperature is clearly displayed on the LCD display. Our heat gun has a power-on memory function, which means it will keep working at the last TEMP you set. This is the first heat gun that can convert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit. To set the conversion between Celsius and Fahrenheit, press the two wind speed buttons at the same time for a few seconds.
The integrated overload protection function prevents burning by blocking the heating element and using the dual heating wire for rapid heating. The delay off feature allows the heating wire to cool down after the device has been turned off, extending the device's life and ensuring its safety.
The lightweight heat gun with Scientific Ergonomic Design handle is ideal for stripping paint, bending pipes, lighting charcoal, shrinking PVC, removing rusted bolts, softening caulk around the sink, and even bending and molding plastics, as well as drying and thawing.
The deflector nozzle directs a long, narrow heat pattern to the work surface; two concentrator nozzles direct a concentrated heat flow to the work surface; and the reflector nozzle evenly distributes heat flow across the entire work surface.

Questions & Answers

Is there a carry case included with this?

A cardboard shipping box serves as a substitute for a carrying case. However, it is a good heat gun.

How long can you leave it running before you have to turn it off?

Sorry, I don't know. I set it to 500° and let it run for 15 minutes at that temperature. For the next 20 minutes, there will be no breaks. It was a cinch to use. Before shutting down, it goes through a cooling process. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is "Cooling Mode" capable of completely turning off the heating element? Is it possible to keep it running in cooling mode for an extended period of time?

Cooling mode turns off the heating element and gradually cools it down, presumably to extend its life. It's debatable whether or not this would give it a longer life. This unit is getting more daily use completing vinyl wrap jobs. I have a fully adjustable temperature heat gun from cool air to 1800 degrees that I bought 20 years ago and it's still going strong. So if we get four months out of it, I'll be happy. br>br>My only real complaint is the completely useless 4' cord, which is the only flaw I've found so far with this unit. I swapped out the cord for one that was much better suited.

What kind of guarantee does it come with?

This is a good low-cost heat gun
5/5

I use heat guns on a regular basis, primarily to apply heat-resistant materials. I have a couple of professional heat guns by Milwaukee that I use for shrink tubing and bending PVC tubing and pipe. They have accurate digitally controlled fan speed and heat control that can be variably set and the gun adjusts to maintain the setting. But those were a few hundred dollars, and I needed a couple of cheap basic heat guns for my garage and home shop. br>br>I chose between two Seekone models: a less expensive one with simple thermostatic control, and a slightly more expensive (yet still affordable) model that is the subject of this review, which includes a digital temperature readout and solid-state lighting. Fan speed and temperature can be set in the state. br>br>Now, on to this more advanced model (see my previous review of the basic model). It's a traditional utilitarian device with a solid, high-quality look and feel. It appears to be durable enough for light use, but I'm not sure I'd trust it for high-volume work or to last for many years. br>br>The entire housing is made of plastic, with the only metal visible being the hot air nozzle, which is about 1-inch in diameter. The diameter is 1/2". From the back/base to the nozzle's end, the housing measures about 9 inches. 3/4" in diameter, with a 2-inch body diameter. The handle extends about 7" below the body of the gun (including the power cord strain relief). The heavy-duty power cord is about 56" long, and the strain relief includes a loop that I assume is for hanging the gun on a hook (though it isn't intended for that purpose). The gun's rated power is 1800W, and it couldn't be much higher because that's about 15A, which is the maximum on most 120VAC single phase power outlets. I'm not sure if the gun's fan could be damaged or work poorly at 50Hz because it's specified for 110VAC rather than 120VAC, which shouldn't be a big deal, and only 60Hz is mentioned, which should only affect fan speed. br>br>The gun can be held in a gun-like manner. in one hand, aimed at the object to be warmed or heated, and the case in the other This mode is fairly comfortable thanks to the handle design, which has a good balance and other ergonomics. The plastic, on the other hand, is all hard, with no soft parts. As with many power tools, we've grown accustomed to a certain finish, so extended use without gloves is likely to be uncomfortable. The gun can also be balanced on its back. br>br> end/base, nozzle pointing up, so you can hold the heated object in the airstream above the nozzle with both hands. Many heat guns, in my experience, fail this test because they have a tendency to tip over, and because this can easily start a fire, they must be closely monitored when used in this manner. This can also show where the money was saved in order to obtain the low price. My Milwaukee models use a silicon rubber jacketed power cord with high strand count conductors inside, so the power cord is soft and floppy with minimal stiffness, so the power cord's weight and/or stiffness, combined with the gun's greater weight, makes it more stable in this mode. By comparison, the Seekone gun is extremely light, and the power cord, while adequate electrically, is also poorly constructed and quite stiff. I discovered that I needed to adjust the gun's position and orientation until I found a stable place for it to balance while in use, because any other position or rotational orientation on a floor or table would result in the power cord's stiffness pulling on the gun's low mass, causing it to fall over. When used in vertical mode, the ends of my Milwaukee guns' handles are at the same level as the rear base of the gun's housing, which helps stabilize the gun. Although the handle on this Seekone gun cannot be used in this manner, they did include a wire bail that snaps into two holes near the handle's end. The bail normally rests against the back of the handle, but it can be flipped to a position where it extends the handle so that it touches the same surface that the gun is balanced on, making it more stable in that direction. At least in one direction, this helps to compensate for the stiffness of the power cord. br>br>The gun comes with four different accessories, each of which alters the airflow from the nozzle:
- The 2-inch long concentration nozzle reduces the normal 1-inch diameter of the nozzle. nozzle with a diameter of 1/2" and a diameter of 7/8"br>- The 2-inch long concentration nozzle reduces the normal 1-inch diameter of the nozzle. a nozzle with a diameter of 1/2" and a diameter of 1/2"br>- a nozzle with a diameter of 1/2" and a The 2" long reflector nozzle directs air from the nozzle to one side (the shovel-shaped sheet metal piece is about 1-inch in diameter). 1/2" in width). The reflector is fairly flat out of the box, but you could bend it to redirect the air in a different way, or even curl it around something like a dowel to make a looped shape (many other heat guns come with a nozzle like this, which is best for evenly heating heat shrink tubing around electrical wiring)br>- 3 nozzles with deflectors 2-inches long and 1/2" wide 1/4" wide, flattens the hot air stream and directs it to one side; most likely for paint strippingbr>br>The gun has two controls:

Although the User Manual is well-illustrated, the English text does not always make sense, and there are a few flat-out errors. out instructions and descriptions that aren't correct. Now I'll tell you about what I've discovered through experience with my gun. br>br>On the control panel, there is a 1-inch LCD display. It measures 1/4" x 7/8" and isn't backlit, making it difficult to read. However, I am not complaining at this time. Four yellow pushbuttons can be found beneath the LCD. - and a fan , as well as TEMPERATURE and - The control panel works in conjunction with the three-position POWER switch, which appears to be a range and memory/preset selector rather than a fan speed control (on the less expensive version of this gun, that same switch is indeed the combined fan speed control and power switch, contrary to the instructions). With the POWER switch, you can choose between the LOW (I) and HIGH (II) range. The only difference appears to be that in LOW (I), you can only set temperatures up to 750°F, whereas in HIGH (II), you can set temperatures up to 1100°F. You press the FAN or FAN - button in one of those two range settings. The fan speed can be increased or decreased with the touch of a button, and the change is instantaneous; It seems to stay put after that and doesn't seem to change on its own. On the LCD, a circular bar graph shows where you are in the speed range. The TEMPERATURE or TEMPERATURE - buttons are then pressed. The desired temperature can be selected using the buttons. The LCD normally displays the actual measured temperature, but when you press the buttons, it switches to displaying your most recent SETTING rather than the actual temperature. The temperature setting is incremented or decremented by 10°F when these buttons are pressed for a short period of time. By pressing and holding either of these buttons, you can quickly change the temperature setting in hundred-degree increments. So, basically, you press a button once to quickly get to the nearest 100 degree setpoint, then press the same button again and again to close in on the desired setpoint by tens of degrees; After a few seconds without pressing a TEMPERATURE button, the LCD switches from displaying the setting to displaying the actual temperature, which you can watch rapidly increase or decrease until the setpoint is reached, at which point the digital circuitry locks it in place. At that point, it appears to be quite stable, and you can still adjust the fan speed as needed. If you change the fan speed quickly, the actual temperature displayed may dip for a few seconds before returning to normal. br>br>After that, you can choose the other range, e. g. HIGH (II), and set a new fan speed and temperature, and the display will show the gun rapidly adjusting until the desired temperature is reached once more. br>br>After that, you can switch between the LOW (I) and HIGH (II) ranges, and the gun will remember your settings and quickly adjust to meet them. The maximum possible temperature setpoint appears to be the ONLY difference between the two ranges. br>br>The LCD can show temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius (Centigrade). You press BOTH the FAN and the FAN -, which is counterintuitive. To switch between the two units, press both TEMPERATURE buttons at the same time for a few seconds (pressing both TEMPERATURE buttons would have been more intuitive). br>br>The instructions, as well as a large label on the gun, remind you to always turn the gun off by turning the POWER switch to OFF, after which the digital controller will keep the fan running for about 8 seconds to cool down critical components. You've been programmed not to unplug the gun until the automatic cool down is complete. I'd like to point out that on the non-complex non-complex non-complex non There is no automatic cool down or warning on the digital version of this heat gun. I'm curious if the thing that needs to cool down is actually a solid-state component. The fan or heating element is controlled by the state. br>br>BTW, most heat shrink tubing is polyolefin, and the normal recommended shrink temperature for that is around 200°F, so the LOW (I) range is appropriate, as can the fan speed.

Thermostat that isn't working properly
3/5

Please, Seekone, fix it!   The main issue with this gun is that the digital temperature control does not appear to be properly calibrated. This will be given a lower rating until it is fixed. br>br>I was on my phone and the gun was set to 100 degrees Celsius. I accidentally touched the hot part of the phone with my bare skin after about 7 minutes, expecting it to sting, but was surprised when it was only lukewarm. To test, I took out my grill thermometer and measured the actual heat output; sure enough, it was only a little more than half of what I had set on the gun. I tried it at a variety of temperatures (50 to 400 °C) and on both low and high settings, and the gun temperature consistently mismatched (less than) the actual output as measured by my grill thermometer. br>br>The video I've attached shows the replacement gun I ordered after the first gun's behavior. Unless I'm missing something, I believe this is a factory issue. br>br>How about the positive aspects? The heat gun is surprisingly light and comfortable to hold for its size. It's easy to heat because you can prop it up and place items over the nozzle. This defective gun will work for you if all you want is something to get hot for relative definitions of hot. However, I believe the main reason most of us chose this model over the less expensive non-electric model was because it was more comfortable. The temperature control on the digitial thermostat version of this gun was supposed to be fine-tuned. I'm going to return both guns and go with a competitor instead. br>br>Please, Seekone, repair the thermostat!.

The digital heat gun is well worth the money
5/5

This heat gun, on the other hand, is amazing. If you know how heat guns work, you'll be able to get an estimate of the temperature rather than an exact reading. Room temperature, server temperature, and distance all play a role, so this is just a guide. That being said, the speed and heat control are incredible. Also, the auto cool down is a nice feature because I don't always remember to cool down the gun to extend its life. It went above and beyond my expectations. With fantastic customer service, this is a one-of-a-kind experience.

It hasn't worked since the first day
3/5

It's also amusing. It was requested to be used on wire heat wrap and roof vinyl. Covid is a successful company. For the next month or so, the new heatgun will sit in its box. Go ahead and put it to work. Even when slamming the down bottom, I can see the numbers shoot up to 1500 degrees. The entire back is rotated! The screen flickers wildly as it rotates 360 degrees. After that, the settings don't seem to do anything. The numbers speak for themselves, but the temperatures are either cold or extremely hot. There's no middle ground here. So, for the sake of fire safety, yes. It was thrown away! It's a real bummer that I spent so much money on something that turned out to be complete garbage. I'm still using my "broken" harbor freight one and it works fine, so I'm not sure why I tried to replace it LMAO.
