You should only expect to go half-hog with this mask because it only has a half-facepiece.
There are no filters in the package. Filters are not included in the package and must be purchased separately. br>Use the chart to figure out which filter is right for you.
The HEPA filter, also known as the P100, is the most commonly used dust filter. The chemical cartridges are designed for a specific type of exposure. On 3m's website, you can find a matrix for specific exposure/cartridge matching by going to "3m PPE Safety Solutions." "Warning": Before entering an OSHA/NIOSH PEL or IDLH environment, a fit test is recommended and, in my opinion, required for personal safety. Certain working environments would necessitate the use of a full facepiece or a gas mask. goggles of proof
You'll get pretty close, but your Bane impersonation will be spot-on. Simply use a sharpie to black out the orangs' areas. Have fun.

I am unable to use this respirator in its current state. The package was wide open, and the rubber that would act as a face gasket had scuff marks and small cuts all over it. Beware. Right now, I'm so disappointed. I'm not even returning it; instead, I'm destroying it so it doesn't end up in the wrong hands.
Expectations for this type of product are based on the following ratings:br>Filtration: br>seal when worn comfortably: 9/10 (semi arbitrary based solely on smell) 7/10br>seal when worn in an uncomfortably tight fit: 10/10br>When worn properly, the mask provides excellent comfort. 5/10br>mask comfort when worn loosely: Comfort to sleep in: 6 or 7 out of 10br> 6/10 (Back is fine, sides are fine if you prop your ear up with a pillow. ) Sleeping on one's stomach is impossible. )br>Mask Dimensions: 4/10 - I don't like how short the elastic bands on this mask are. It applies too much pressure across the back of my neck, which is painful, and this in turn applies too much pressure to the bridge of my nose, which is painful. I'm 5/10, 280, and stout (I regularly engage in sports). br>Conditions of the test: Downwind of the exploding Kiluea volcano in Hawaii, less than 50 miles away. For the most part, the weather has been cool in the area. In the mid- to high-seventies. br>br>Most inconvenient feature:br>The pressure on the nose bridge is noticeable and causes aching quickly. Even when the mask is worn high enough that the outer bridge touches the tops of my brows (as high as I can get it and still maintain a seal), the mask's inner fold pushes forcefully on the sensitive upper portion of the nose bridge. I'm not sure we have the resources to do much better right now, but this was my main concern. The check valve for the air intake (where the filters attach) vibrates audibly when you sing in this mask. br>br>Most Amusing Aspect:br> This gives whatever you're saying/singing a plastic resonance, which is amusing. br>br>Most vexing Aspect:br> Ignoring the discomfort, this is a rubber/silicone material that is constantly in contact with your face, creating an unpleasant moist contact/environment. This is almost certainly unavoidable, but the fact that the bottom of the skirt folds back up several inches with no drainage points makes me concerned that sweat will easily pool here. This afternoon, I'm going to put my theory to the test.
The plastic headstrap is about half the thickness of the one I purchased seven years ago, which I still use on a daily basis. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS CHEAP MERCHANDISE. They also gave me a filter that was actually thinner than usual. When I called 3M, they told me to send them some pictures. I did so, but I never received a response. This company, in my opinion, is no longer serious. This isn't the case with what's going on. Find a different vendor if you're a professional.
Ceramic tile grout had to be removed from a wooden subfloor by my wife and me. So we used a 25 X 20 plastic sheet to tape off the work area and a concrete attachment to go crazy with an angle grinder. Underneath the plastic, there's an INSTANT dust cloud! With this respirator, it was far too easy to breathe normally, and I was under there for more than an hour. br>br>I removed the respirator outside and walked back into the house (without it) to see if anything had changed. The dust in the air was so strong that I could TASTE it. This respirator is well worth the money, as long as you get the GOOD 3M filters (Part number 60926). YOUR LUNGS WILL THANK YOU IN THE LONG RUN!br>br>.
Great product; I purchased the large version, and everything fit perfectly. I didn't have to adjust the straps very often. The only complaint I had was that it did not come with a set of filters, but that was easily overlooked. I'm not taking any more chemical particulates that are caustic or acidic!.
I was recently remodeling some condos and found that using disposable paper nose filters was causing me problems. My safety glasses kept fogging up, making breathing difficult. This 3M Respirator arrived in the mail, and it's a welcome addition to my toolbox. br>The LARGE size is perfect for me, and I have a medium-sized head. Extra Large is recommended if you are over 6 feet tall or have a large head. br>The sealing is excellent, and breathing motion is normal. It is not a problem to work with drywall dust all day with this 3M product. The straps are made to be comfortable and stay put. The 3M 2091 P100 Particulate Filter is a good filter to get (for dusty conditions).
This still works for me even though I have a beard. The garment is simple to put on and remove.
I bought four of these units for my shop so that my nephews and I could work on different woodworking projects together. I expected them to arrive without filters, but I didn't anticipate all four being open. Worse, it appears that they've all been used. To make matters worse, they're labeled as "non-toxic. " it is possible to return it br>We'll see how Amazon handles it, and I'll follow up if necessary. In the meantime, beware.
