When we serve warrants on meth labs, we have these with us. If it can create a one-of-a-kind product, it will be successful. You can also carry them in the larger water bottle carriers for Nalgene bottles, so you won't have any trouble putting out a dumpster fire with them.
Yes, it's water-based, but it's also the most effective fire extinguisher on the market. To use it to put out electrical fires, turn off the power first, and there are numerous youtube videos that demonstrate how effective it is compared to water and other types of extinguishers.

It is true to its word. I bought this to replace a grossly oversized 10 pound ABC extinguisher that came with my car kit. I'd had the 10 pound ext in my daily driver for about 12 years but had never used it. br>br>About a month after purchasing the cold fire, I saw a car stopped along the highway with two guys dumping a cooler of water onto a brush fire, so I pulled over and popped out the 20oz cold fire. Safety came off super easily (perhaps too easily, as it had been knocked loose earlier in a camping trip). I went after the fire's edge, which had a 30' perimeter at the time. Everything that was directly hit by the cold fire substance was instantly put out. It was easy to aim, and it shot straight and true. Having said that, I do have some reservations. In what felt like 6 or so seconds of spray, the cold fire had run out of substance. It wasn't up to the job of controlling a low-intensity burn with a large perimeter. The ability to knock down a spot for 1/2 second was extremely effective, but the can's capacity was so limited that I couldn't control much. br>br>Obviously, this is a difficult review to write. I was well aware that I was replacing 10 lbs of NFPA approved agent with 20 oz of unapproved agent (cold fire), and yet here I am complaining that it didn't work for as long or as effectively as I had hoped. br>br>However, I write these reviews as letters to myself from another time. I'd like to let that self know that this would have been ideal for putting out a small fire on the spot, like the bike cops do; They'd be great for putting out a trash can fire, and a couple of them could probably handle the aftermath of a Molotov cocktail. It is extremely portable. However, the ability isn't supernatural: With only 20 ounces of agent, you lose. br>br>If your threat model involves an area larger than one square meter, you'll need more than one agent.
On my truck, I put this in. It's a good size and fits nicely in my living room. I can't give it a four-star rating because I'm not sure if it works and don't want to find out! Everything I read indicated that it is an excellent extinguisher.
This is an excellent product.
I'm hoping I'll never need it. If I had known it was a one-time use product, I would not have paid $66 for it; there are plenty of options for half the price.
I haven't needed it yet, but it's small and fits nicely in my truck.
Of course, I have not used it, but it appears to be well constructed.
I had a fire in my barbeque a few months ago, and I was finally able to use my Cold Fire, which was simple to use and quickly extinguished the grease fire. Because this fire extinguisher does not expire, I will never use a regular fire extinguisher at my house again; it is AMAZING.
