The purpose of fire extinguishers is to put out hot fires. What good would an extinguisher doing its job if it blew up when the temperature reached non-lethal levels? On a sunny day, you can bet that a burning house gets much hotter than your car or truck. br>br>Look for a label that says "UL rated" (Underwriters Laboratories). Extinguishers must be able to be safely stored at minus ten degrees Fahrenheit, according to the laboratory. 40 years old and up The standard for fire extinguishers is 120 degrees Fahrenheit. br>br>However, the laboratory also requires that extinguishers withstand temperatures of 175 degrees for seven days, which isn't usually disclosed in product information. A UL-certified product of excellent quality. The steel cylinder of the listed extinguisher is designed to withstand six times the normal pressure without bursting.
Drilling holes would be required to secure the mount. Because this one is so small, you might be able to secure it with those double-sided tape pieces with the tabs that can be removed without causing damage.
I like to think of my car as a "show car" both inside and out. I kept one behind the driver's seat (black leather with dark charcoal carpet) and it EXPLODED after about 6 months! The can did not explode, thank goodness, but it did blow up the valve. After just conditioning and treating the leather the day before, I couldn't tell you how enraged I was. br>The substance is a fine white powder that was found all over the place, including in the carpet fibers. The floorboard behind the driver's seat, no matter how many times it was cleaned, never looked as dark and original as it once did. BUYER BEWARE: THESE CAN EXPLODE IN THE VEHICLE UNDER MODERATE HEAT. br>(So, where exactly are you supposed to keep it?
It has a pressure gauge, according to my husband.

You'll pay the price later! The product description claims that it is a metal head (which is incorrect!). ), as well as a metal pull pin (again, incorrect!). Plastic is used in both of them. Something isn't quite right; the can also says "non-alcoholic beverage. " can be refilled. " When I contacted First Alert, they informed me that this model is no longer available and that I should return it. Because of Amazon's return policy, I am unable to do so.
So, after waking up at 3 a. m. , I'm not sure what I'm going to do. One night at 3 a. m. , I realized I needed to get a fire extinguisher - both for my home and my automobile I'm not sure why it happened, but it did. I put a set of these in the kitchen, along with an ABC extinguisher. Before I left, I decided to get a second set for my friend, because, well, between the two of us, we've been long overdue to catch something irreversibly on fire. br>br>Flash forward about two weeks, and it's time to replace the taillights on his Subaru, which I'd borrowed to get an inspection because they weren't cracked. When I went to put them on his car, I discovered a wasps nest inside the quarter panel, and my friend decided the only way to get rid of it was to burn it with brake parts cleaner and fire - which was quite successful in destroying the wasps nest. br>br>After stamping out the fire (inside the quarter panel), he immediately walked away and went inside; I started to follow, but turned around before walking around the corner, and saw a growing flame coming from behind the taillight that I'd just put there - which was beginning to disintegrate. br>br>I searched the vehicle for the fire extinguisher - When he went inside to get something, he discovered his car sitting by the door, so he ran back out and quickly extinguished what had grown into a five-foot-high flame coming from the tailgate. br>br>I have to say, if I hadn't had this, there's a good chance his car, and possibly his house, would have burned to the ground. It's a fantastic tool, and I'll keep one on hand for the rest of my days.
I recently purchased a 2019 Yamaha Ex Sport, and this fire extinguisher fits perfectly in the holder, as if it were designed specifically for it. I'm writing a review because there was very little feedback on this item, and finding a fire extinguisher for a pwc can be difficult. I hope this information is useful to someone.
I've had this in my car since December 2014, and I'm not reordering it (Jan 2019) because I'm aware that they should be replaced every so often. It's been in temperatures ranging from 100 degrees Fahrenheit to 10 degrees Fahrenheit and hasn't deformed or discharged on me at random (giggle). I'm hoping I'll never have to use it, but it gives me peace of mind.
I ordered two fire extinguishers, one for the kitchen and the other for the car. Although the prices were different, I received two kitchen fire extinguishers. Yes, they will (hopefully) complete the task, but if they only have one type (both of which are labeled "Kitchen"), this should be stated. If the vendor would like to explain or correct something, please do so. This will change the review, but it will have to be a one-star rating because the two don't match.
These can be found in all of my automobiles. The car will love it. Fortunately, I've never needed one, but it's better to have one in the car and never need it than to need one and not have one. A fire extinguisher should be in every car. Car fires are frightening, especially if someone you care about is trapped inside. Furthermore, cars are being built with increasingly low-cost materials that are designed to crumple on impact and can easily jam a door shut or trap someone inside. Not like the cars of the past, which were made of solid metal and could bounce off of anything. Purchase these in any case. This is an excellent item.
I got it a few months ago and hadn't used it until I had a small dead brush fire, at which point I pulled out the safety clip and fired, but nothing came out. And as for the fire, I had to stomp it out for a few minutes due to the lack of wind.
This extinguisher should be avoided at all costs. The gauge shows it is in the red recharge zone right out of the box, with the pin still in place with the band. br>br>It's also something you won't be able to return on Amazon. br>br>I won't trust it to work if I need it, so I'll have to get rid of it; what a waste of money and time. br>br>As another reviewer suggested, buy another brand (Amerex appears to be highly rated) and avoid the frustration and potential disaster if you need to rely on it.
