I notice and experience a few small issues with this chamber, however I think the price point might be a little high. A few things to be thankful for The lid is made of heavy gauge glass. You won't have to worry about the lid scratching over time since the pot is steel, not aluminum. You won't have to worry about the pot getting dented or damaged. The hose is of high quality. Gauge, valve tree, and the like seem pretty decent in their own right, but not the best. There is only one bad thing It takes a lot of effort to work with the seal. Glass lids are not heavy enough to seal once on the pot, so once on the pot, the lid's weight does not suffice to close it. In order to make it seal, I have to press both hands down strongly. A little lubricant on the seal will make it easier to seal, but if too much is used, the chamber will become contaminated. Apply a somewhat neutral lubricant (light coat of vegetable oil or shortening [Crisco] only on the glass surfaces). The chamber did not come with any instructions on how it should be assembled or handled. In addition, both ends of the hose and connectors are designed to remain connected. Since being able to roll up the hose is not possible, I adapted the fittings and attached quick connectors to it. Normally, pneumatic quick connectors are designed to lock when positive air pressure is applied. Instead, I used hydraulic fittings, which will lock when both positive and negative pressure is applied. With quality fittings and a gauge of quality, this is a tough pot. With 30+ inches of vacuum capacity, it has no problem holding it overnight. This vacuum keeps its vacuum at all times. A second part of the project concerned the customer service department. I needed an extra part that did not exist. Despite the fact that I only paid for shipping, they went out of their way to get my part from China. The way I do business with this company is what I wish all companies were like that. Very happy with it. I was able to install the gauges easily on this vacuum chamber because it is well built. allows me to see inside the jar. The lid has an excellent seal that is leak-proof, and the lid has a soft surface that allows me to see the contents clearly. It still holds a vacuum after 12 hours of pulling it. There is a tight shut off valve, a good gauge, and a nice vacuum hose on this product. Everything is set up perfectly. Although the vendor warns me not to, I use this product with Cactus Juice for Wood Stabilizing, regardless of their advice. Since I expect the soft seal to not be compatible with cedar juice, I avoid getting it wet with cactus juice. I'm pleased with the way things are going so far.

Despite the chamber's smaller capacity, it really is a nice chamber to use, and I really like it. I really like that the vacuum port is at the top, as that is very useful in a 5 Gal cylinder. A great deal of accuracy was noted with the gage and the valves and plumbing provided a great seal. is capable of holding vacuum for an extended period of time. At first, I was using a 1/2 HP, 5 CFM pump, but it proved to be The chamber would need to be cooled down to -51 degrees F in about 50 minutes The number five. I simply didn't notice I was wasting my precious air (pun intended) by not converting CFM to ACFM. A couple of things I did not like about the chamber/hose were the fittings that came with it. They were 1/4" for linking The only way to get a higher flow rate on pumps with both is to use a 3/8" fitting. When using a 1/2 HP pump, I had to kneel with all my weight on the lid to help it seal before a vacuum was developed. The pump I have now is a 1 HP 12 CFM pump and works great when using the 3/8" port as well. I come down to the water level of 0. 5" below the pool. It will take under a minute for the blood pressure to fall to 29" Hg. In other words, I don't have to sit on the lid to start a vacuum, just a little light pressure is all that is needed.

To cast parts made of silicone rubber, I needed this. Using a vacuum pump from Harbor Freight allowed assembly to be easy and works great. The platinum silicone rubber from Tap Plastics claims it won't need to be degassed, but it does to cast parts consistently and removes voids from the mold during the cure time. The high batch yields of this chamber have made it pay for itself in no time. This product is a good value because it has a good quality of parts and construction.
