The one I have measures 1/2" and might be I have no doubt about the integrity of my lid because it feels substantial. First, I tried another brand of vacuum chamber with an acrylic lid, and within a couple of days of degassing isopropyl alcohol from a sample, there were spider cracks in the acrylic (acrylic + isopropyl = not a good The one I returned was the wrong one, I bought this one and I don't regret it.
Work is as advertised on the vessel. Stabilizing it has not been my primary concern. The pressure is well controlled and the spring holds well under pressure.
Since I have never used a pot with an upward pull, I cannot make any comparison, however using cactus juice to stabilize wood does not seem to pose any issues for me. Despite turning wood into cactus juice, I have not yet used the pot itself in any kind of cactus juice-holding task. Always place the wood inside a separate container and pour the juice over it.
The ID inside the door is 10" and the height inside the door is 9". I appreciate your help,

After trying my 3d printer's spools of filament with a vacuum, I decided to try vacuum drying them. It is a very effective 3 Gallon Slickwoodvac I was given for that purpose. To do this, I put about 1/4 cup of desiccant in a small cup inside the bottom of the There is a relatively old hand-held Edwards vacuum pump that will only draw this down to 28 psi. This pump can draw much more than 5 inches of mercury, (I have a rebuild kit for it that should enable it to draw down to much more than it currently can). Observe that the pot should reach the maximum vacuum after about 5 to 6 minutes of running the pump. Turn off the pump inlet while the pot is drying, and let it settle. Although I have only been trying for 18 hours, the pot still maintains the vacuum level at which it started, so it is doing a wise job. This is a sample print I made from a roll of TPU that I bought on Amazon in 2016. This roll was unusable because of moisture problems the last time I printed with it in 2017, now it's as good as new. This particular TPU roll was placed under vacuum for 24 hours. In the meantime, I'm drying a roll of Filabot 910175 Taulman 910 Alloy that I got in 2017 and that had been sitting just in the open air in my closet since then. After I put the spool in the pot, I put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 160 degrees F since my vacuum pump was not drawing as low as it should. It seems to me that pre-existing conditions should be considered If I warm the filament, I can get the water out of it easier at the reduced pressure my pump is currently operating at. The pros are Holds vacuum well, does not loose vacuum from minute pressure changes, has a glass cover, which is a huge advantage for working with chemicals that do not fix with acrylic, and holds 3 Hatchbox The downside It would be more reasonable if it was Amazon Prime, $28 for shipping is a bit steep.
As a conclusion As a wood stabilizer pot, it is sure to work just as well for other 3D printers, and I am sure that some other 3d printer would benefit from using it as well.
Since the fittings are low-cost, they are obviously super cheap, but that's fine for this small project. A pot like that is clearly intended to be used for industrial cooking. As it is, there is a risk of the valve breaking off under the weight of your hand. If the valve were mounted on the glass, instead of the side of the pot, when you store it you could flip the glass over, so it would become more compact when you store it. Basically, I could have made the same thing myself following tutorials and plans online, but I found it to be a bit If you intend to use it a lot, you should probably opt for a more expensive version.
There is a 2 matched to it. This pump pulls a lot of vacuum and is very fast. There is a perfect seal on the valves, and they are all in good condition. The lid is kept with about 5inHg when I store it to keep dust off, and it always stays secure. The top of this model has a glass (not plastic) surface, so you have to be careful, but it is very tough as well. Because the glass is so easy to clean, any resin or silicone just falls off. I find it to be a great tool in general.
This one is a great deal! The epoxy resin needed to be degassed and wood needed to be stabilized. Although I am unfamiliar with other brands (this is my first vacuum chamber), I must say that this machine is impressive. Among the many reasons for choosing this product were the fact that it is American made, has good reviews, and comes with A vacuum pump, connected with a Harbor Freight vacuum and pulled - this is important when stabilizing with Cactus Juice. The following amounts are in between The pressure held 28 easily after turning off the pump for 24 hours without leaking. Other reviewers had mentioned this, and I believe this is another reason I chose this brand over the others. In order to soak pieces up to 6" long, I use a 32 oz tumbler for stabilizing, and it fit inside the chamber perfectly with a few inches of space The next time I buy, I will definitely do it.
A wooden pen blank was made from this product, as well as wood that was stabilized. We use it for our purposes and it works fine. Only thing we have seen that could cause a problem is that sometimes it loses a bit of pressure, so we need to bring it back to normal. It is an issue that will likely arise with any pressure pot, and one that can usually be addressed and fixed by being diligent and monitoring the progress of your project.
I really like the product. It works just like it claims. It was a little frustrating to have to pay shipping and tax added but I think the product is terrific.
A vacuum was maintained for a long period of time (2 weeks) without a significant After degassing it for a few days, it looked like this. The design of this port around the window is better than the port in the glass A stronger design appears to be this.
You can hook it up with your vacuum pump right out of the box and start using it right away. It works well for me and I have already used it several times. Reach for the vacuum, and vacuum as quickly as you can.
