Approximately nine inches is the inner diameter. As per the website, it is 8 inches in diameter. There is no specific information on the diameter of the outside, but it is just stainless steel that is 1/8th inch thick. A lid has a diameter of at least 12 inches when you factor that in.
In this case, you'd need to contact the seller to find out if a replacement is available. There's no fittings on it, just a circular piece of tempered glass. One should be able to be made by any full-service glass dealer.
Even if you do not pour silicon directly into your degassing chamber, you should never do so. If you're going to use mixing containers, use them and put them in. Remember when the silicon degasses, it will expand as the air escapes, so you don't want to fill the containers more than halfway.

The thing I have in my hands is fantastic. No leaks, holds the vacuum for life. According to my research, stainless steel isn't magnetic, so this could very well be made of stainless steel. As a form of self-punishment for my ignorance, I leave this here.
I assembled it with my hands and an adjustable wrench. It needed some minor assembly out of the box, but nothing I couldn't do with my hands. After attaching the air filter, and installing the pressure monitor using two rubber washers, the air filter was complete within 6 minutes. As others have noted, the valve & gauge mount to the body is flimsy and seems to just hang If you apply any force (like having a vacuum hose attached), the whole thing will twist to one side and hang at an awkward However, there is no apparent effect on its performance, but it does make it a bad design, and almost everyone who uses it will encounter this issue. Furthermore, my unit came with the exhaust valve setup incorrectly, such that the handle needs to be inserted through the sidewall chamber itself to enable the exhaust valve to close properly. A support request was sent to BACOENG on their website, I received an automated response indicating a ticket had been created, and I never heard from them again. As it turned out, the fix was pretty simple (merely unscrew the handle, give it a half-turn, and it would be fine You can put it back on once it's been twisted) but I would expect that A) the unit would come assembled correctly, and B) BACOENG would respond appropriately. I don't expect all things to be perfect, but I do expect the vendor to handle the issue. For all of the above, two stars have been knocked off. It is unlikely you'll receive any kind of support or response from the vendor if you buy it.
The vacuum pot is heavy-duty and great for removing ground grime. On the steel pot of my set, there was a rubber gasket. It used to be my favorite to purchase the old style with the gasket sandwiched between the glass lid and the gasket. The glass edges are protected by this piece. All went smoothly though and there were no leaks from the very first time. However, the gauge does not seem to be accurate. The pressure was equalized before using the device, but it now shows WAY past zero It is physically impossible for there to be any atmosphere on the dial. The pump seems to push a lot with my pump, and I have no idea how much it's pushing.
As part of the box, my unit included a flexible hose with one end as 1/4" female flare and the other end as a male flare. I think they're pretty much the same thing. In addition to Amazon and the manufacturer's website, I cannot find any information on what the other side is. It is not listed in the manual neither does Amazon. In response to that question, I noticed on that adapter page that it mentions 1/4" Flare female and 1/2" Acme male. The mystery end is 1/2" Acme, so that means the included hose must be Yet it is almost exactly the same size as the 1/4" female flare. In any case, I doubt that's the case. I recently bought a new hose and now I am able to use this product. Both this product and the Robin Air pump have 1/4" flare male nipples, so I just bought a new hose and it is ready for use. I'm very pleased with how well the pump and vacum chamber work. This is the first time I've used.

Not wanting to damage the o-ring if I overtightened, I tightened only to the required amount The rings are still in place, so I did not change them. Despite this, the chamber is quite functional. There is no need for me to press on the thick glass lid to seal it. I was already able to use the hose that came with it, because it comes with ferrules and threaded ends.
I would like to see the gauges reinforced where they mount, but it is an amazing product out of the box.
