In this case, I was looking for a chamber for wood stabilizing, and although I would like one that's top mounted rather than side mounted, this unit is working just fine for me. I ran the first batch directly in the chamber, tossing the wood into the pot and adding stabilizer to the chamber as well, but there is really not enough room in the port for much. I did not think there was much of a problem with the port since most batches would be in smaller containers using wide mouth jars or restaurant In contrast, I found Utz Pork Rind containers to be superb if you're looking for a big capacity. And you'll get a snack as well! There are surely stock pots, kettles, and similar inserts that would also work great. I like the unit. The top is thick and heavy and seals well it holds a vac it comes with a spare air filter it does the job. Don't be afraid to create! Let your creativity run wild!.

It was my expectation to receive a pot and a nice piece of glass much like what I have in the kitchen. My jaw dropped when I saw how great this vacuum chamber was! In spite of my expectations, the pot is a very heavy stainless steel that is much thicker than Pressure vessel of the first order! Can you see the top of the glass? It is made of tempered glass, 3/4 of an inch thick! At this price point, the paper is so thick that it is hard to believe. Getting set up was easy, I screwed on the gauges and had it running in a few minutes. There are 26 inches of high-grade guidance. I love the 1/4" flare fittings, it fits my current setup perfectly. The hose has a top quality seal and is high quality. As much as I would like to, I would give it a sixth star.
