The way it is is the way HM ORP meters can be paired with this solution for storage of ORP values. pH meters used by HM do not require this solution to store pH. It was my understanding that it was needed for a ph pen, but I was wrong. It's not necessary to buy hype to use your ph pen. You can rinse it after use without spending a dime.
