Questions & Answers
Keeping the probe end of the pH tester protected when not in use is a good idea. The probe is stored in this stuff.
So long as the cap contains solution (the glass bulb should be immersed in solution) when stored, the cap should last a year or more. While you may need to top it up from time to time, you shouldn't rinse or tip the contents of the cap out every time.
Thank you for your question, Zeppy. Yes, we have a 3 molar concentration of KCl.

As soon as I received this item, I noticed that there was a shortage of fluid from how the bottle was sloshing fluid back and forth. My flashlight showed me the bottle was missing 25% of the contents when I held it up to the bottle. Tape was applied to the top to prevent leakage. Once the tape was removed, I unscrewed the cap, and noticed that a small portion of the foil seal was broken. The foil seal was held tightly against the bottle with tape and a cap that prevented the leak into the shipping box thanks to the cap and tape. The fluid could have evaporated slowly but never spilled because the manufacturer's design allowed the liquid to slowly evaporate. It does not matter because I cannot use it because it is meant for storing a PH meter, which has a glass probe on it, and it could damage the probe if the solution is not correct, and without fluid it would be impossible to gauge whether it is still functional.
I cannot recommend this, as you can get the raw ingredients to make your own KLC too cheaply. It is made well and ph balanced, but for the price you pay you get too little, and making your own will probably be cheaper and last over 100 times longer.
There is just too much cost associated with it. Overall, it does what it says it will do, but for its value it is way too expensive. The bottle wasn't filled to the top, according to some. There is no reason the bottle should be full, as long as there is no evidence of leakage. 100 ml of the product was sold to you. No matter how big or small the bottle is, it doesn't matter. To sum up, 100 ml isn't enough for what the price is. The next time I purchase a toy, I'll try a less expensive brand to see if the performance is any different.
In light of the price of this stuff and my need to preserve my pH meter, I must use it. In this case, they don't fill the bottle at all. There is about 3/4 of a full glass in there. It's time for me to do some research and find an equivalent replacement that's cheaper.
BLUELAB PRODUCTS are no longer in my shopping cart as my cap was open and the product inside was empty. This is not reliable.
In fact I have yet to open the bottle, so the product doesn't even cost much. As far as the pen is concerned, I still use the packet it comes in. Keeping a reading accurate is made easier with it. For the cheap pens, the solution is all you need. There's also an affordable version of this product available as well.
