Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this on bare floors? tile?

No, it's not designed to be used on any hard flooring, including tile, but it's the best carpet cleaner I've ever had. If you don't over-wet it, it will dry in about an hour. Suction is very strong, and the machine is not noisy.

What makes the BG10 different from the 10N2?

My machine, which was ordered on December 5, 2019, was just delivered to me. It's been a nightmare, to say the least! to fill out an application I attempted to register it using the included registration card, which provided three options for registration: I went with - Well, I had no idea there was a commercial division (which is mentioned in the manual)- I was only going by what was on the warranty card; I hadn't used the machine yet, so I didn't look at the manual. MY MACHINE (yes, the physical machine has a label on it (on the base of the handle near the on/off switch) with the model 10N2 1925700294FXB (serial) When I entered this for the warranty, it wouldn't accept; of course, I was unknowingly registering it in the WRONG DIVISION- When I called, a woman listened to my problem and suggested that I use the MODEL BG10 with the same serial number - If it didn't work, she promised she'd register it for me. This number did not work either. I wanted written confirmation that it had been registered rather than relying on word of mouth, so I called the commercial division again, and you guessed it! NO, the model numbers that were previously provided were incorrect!! The correct one is 86T3 with the same serial number. As you can see, the model is the issue. Also, I was told that this machine should be referred to as "Professional" rather than "Commercial," despite the fact that the manual refers to it as "Commercial." Bissell Customer Care sent me a link to enter my information, and tah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-da NONE OF THEM HAD ANY EFFORT! As a result, I'm back in limbo, unsure if mine is registered for a one-time use. warranty of one year! Given some of these carpet machines' track records, there's no way I'm not registering them. I used to have a Hoover All-in-One vacuum cleaner. When we first used the Terrain Steam carpet cleaner (which is no longer available (I can see why), it leaked water like a broken dam- We couldn't figure out what was wrong, so we tried everything we could think of until my husband ripped it apart and discovered YES! , I shattered a flimsy piece of thin plastic that looked like an o-ring ring. With all the leaking water and a brand new cleaner that was useless and destructive, I'm beginning to believe that there are no real brands anymore, just cheap junk with a label slapped on it and no proper numbers, manuals, or web sites. That concludes our discussion. Some of these businesses are taking advantage of people and robbing them blindly. Sad! This isn't something you'll need around the holidays!

Is this a better option than the Bissell professional grade big green deep cleaning machine?

I'm not aware of a commercial Bissell big green cleaning machine; the Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine is, as far as I'm aware, a home appliance. The BG10 is a commercial unit that can be found in nearly every major hotel and motel across the country.

Is it possible to combine this with the BISSELL 2X Professional Deep Cleaning Formula? What is the best cleaning solution for BG10?

The Bissell 2 Deep Clean is, in fact, the one that is recommended. Two thumbs up for the oxy version. Per tank refill, it says to use two tank cap fulls of the solution mixed with the remaining hot water. Expect to do no more than a 15x12 area per tank refill.

Machines that are the same
5/5

I'm sorry to disappoint those of you who thought purchasing the BG10 was a better deal than purchasing the 86T3. There are a few minor differences between them, but they are the same machine. A 5-year warranty, a black power cord, and an accessory kit are all included with the 86. The BG10 includes a one-year warranty, a yellow detachable power cord, and no accessory kit (which can be purchased separately for an additional $55). Aside from that, the machines are completely interchangeable. There are two motors in each, and all of the components are identical. If you don't believe me, look up the schematics for both machines on the internet. Both machines sell for $400 on Amazon, and they're both great because they're the same machine! Just plan on spending an extra $55 on BG10 accessories. So, unless they just want to throw money away, why would anyone in their right mind buy a BG10 rather than an 86T3? On this thread, I've seen several reviews where people claim that they chose the "Commercial" BG10 over the "Professional" 86T3 because the BG10 has two motors while the 86 only has one. That, of course, is a complete fabrication. I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish, unless they simply don't know what they're talking about. Do your own research if you haven't already done so. Update. The flow indicator on this machine began to leak after a year of use. Here's what you should do instead of hauling this machine to a service center, waiting a month, and then hauling it back. For $20 on Amazon, you can get a new flow indicator that will arrive in three days. Remove eight screws to remove the cover, one screw to remove the old flow indicator, two hoses to unattach, and a new one to replace. It took about fifteen minutes to complete the entire process. Please do not take your vehicle to a service center and pay an arm and a leg for service, as anyone can change the flow indicator!.

BG10 vs
5/5

86T3 is a game that pits two teams against each other. I bought the 86T3 and returned it because this was the machine I really wanted all along. The 86T3 and the BG10 commercial model have very few differences. I got on the phone with a sales representative from Bissell Commercial. He explained the main distinctions between BG10 and 86T3 to me: 1. 2. The BG10 has a thicker gauge, longer detachable cord (I'm not sure if it's thicker). The BG10 is covered by a one-year warranty, while the 86T3 is covered by a five-year warranty. V-rated plastics (higher fire resistance rating) are used in the BG10. The writing/badging on the machines differs. In comparison to the Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine writing on the 86T3, I prefer the detachable cord, did not require the cleaning hose (I can always purchase it later if I do), and prefer the less busy Bissell Big Green Commercial writing on the front vacuum nozzle. Buy the machine that best suits your personal needs and preferences based on facts. The 86T3 and the BG10 are still some of the best carpet extractors on the market, as mentioned by another reviewer!.

But, despite my best efforts, I was unable to enjoy it
3/5

I really wanted to like it, but it wouldn't turn on after I finished cleaning my apartment. I tried the manual's reset and troubleshooting functions, but it didn't work. I attempted to contact customer service on the weekends, but they were unavailable. I considered whether it had overheated and I hadn't given it enough time to cool down, but then I remembered that this is marketed as a commercial device, and if it can't handle half an apartment without overheating, I'll just stick with my old steam cleaner and order new brushes. I'd like to point out that while it worked, it did so admirably. I'm sure it was just bad luck, but I don't have time to waste on exchanges and support.
