This is an excellent resource. I'm renting a place that has a hook-up. up a drain: a habitual offender I decided to get one for my renter so that he wouldn't have to wait for me or the manager to finish his laundry. It's simple to use and has cleared simple clogs for me in a matter of minutes. It's a great product to own, and I believe it's a great product for Amazon to stock.
1/2 inch. It worked for me in a small sink and shower, so I'm guessing it will work for you as well.

I purchased the 50' version because I needed the extra length to reach areas of my house's plumbing that my equivalent Ridgid, 25' version couldn't reach. First and foremost, the Auto Extend and Retract feature was not functional. I even tried to reel in the cable with a cordless drill attached all the way out in my backyard. There isn't even a hint of retraction. So I compared the two and found that, with the exception of length, they are nearly identical. However, while both are supposed to use 1/4 flex cable, the DrainX's cable was smaller in diameter, causing the Auto Extend and Retract feature to fail. The mechanism would not be able to "bite" the cable. I'm not sure how much smaller it will be. I didn't feel like getting out the calipers to figure it out, but it was clearly different. Very let down.
What a knucklehead. I bought it to unclog a slow toilet, followed the instructions, and it works perfectly. The toilet, on the other hand, breaks after a few cranks! The line wouldn't go in and wouldn't come out! It was broken in 5 minutes, and I read all of the instructions to ensure that I was following them correctly. Although the price is higher than most online products, I believed I would be getting a high-quality product that would last a long time. Not! I unboxed it, tried to use it, and it broke, so I packed it up again in 30 minutes. I'm not getting my money back fast enough, and now I'm stuck with a slow toilet. It was a complete waste of money and time. Take my advice: I only give great reviews when they are truly deserved.
I couldn't get this to work. BUT, in all honesty, it will suffice for the purpose for which it was created. It's designed for small drains such as lavatories, sinks, and bathtubs, but I attempted to use it for a job that was too big for it. It was my fault for attempting to use it there in the first place. I am a frugal individual. I attempted to economize by a few hundred dollars. I took a chance and tried it out. I lost!.
My old 25' manual snake had gotten to a gnarly hair clog, and this 50' snake got to it. Because there was nowhere for the feed snake to go, it earned the right to stay and save me money on a plumber's bill. As a result, five out of five stars for "value for money. " br>Apart from the snake, it's made of plastic, so I'm taking a star off for 'durability. ' It didn't break on me, but I expect some parts to break if I dropped it. However, for a variety of reasons, it's understandable that it's made of plastic. br>Auto-renewal is a feature that allows you to automatically renew your vehicle. The feeding system is fantastic. The snake cannot be locked to the barrel and simply turned, which is a disadvantage. The pistol grip handle is designed in such a way that you almost have to pull the feed lever to get a hold of it, and if you manage to hold on to it without pulling the lever, the snake will tend to be pushed back into the device's body; in my case, I was able to get it to work while holding the feed lever. br>It would be great if there was a way to tell how far the snake had been pushed. But, oh well, such a feature would undoubtably complicate the design and raise the price.
I was able to clear the drain in my shower stall without having to hire a costly plumber. I removed the shower drain cover and inserted the snake into the drain, passing it through the bend in the drain pipe. I started with the handle and then switched to a SLOW cordless drill motor. Don't be alarmed if the snake uncoils in the drum and makes some clanking noises. After a few steps (roughly 6-foot), 9) I made contact with something that caused the snake to slow down. BINGO! I went a little further, maybe a few inches, and then stopped turning and pulled the snake out of the drain with my gloved hands (don't spin, it will unwind the mass). And there it was, a huge, disgusting clog. My shower, on the other hand, is now fully functional. Thanks to DrainX, I now have a handy tote in which to store the Auger, gloves, and handle for future use. I paid full price for my Auger and received no remuneration for writing this review.
For far too long, I've been abusing the $25 snakes available at Home Depot. They kink and become useless, as well as being inconvenient to use in the cable release control. This one is just a little more difficult, and the handle trigger makes the whole thing a lot easier. I've only used it twice, but both times the cable extended to its full length and automatically retracts, which is a godsend. br>br>I'm excited to tackle my next clogged pipe! Well, not exactly, but at least I know it won't be too difficult.
He was the handyman in our house. I purchased this product in the hopes of being able to unclog my kitchen sink on my own. It was a huge success! I'm 80 years old, and I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish with the help of this product; thank you for a wonderful addition to my garage's "fix it" corner.
Because my drain frequently becomes clogged at 25', I needed something longer, and this fits the bill. I needed a length of 35', and the DrainEx 35' met my requirements. The design of the casing is excellent. e plastic, which is easy to clean, a "spin handle" that can be removed to use an electric drill, and, most importantly, a squeeze-to-open mechanism The trigger handle makes snaking the drain a lot easier than the twist screw types, which require three hands to operate (hold device, turn handle, twist screw!). The cable is a little flimsy, and if it kinks, it's useless and must be discarded (I had the 50' DrainEx, and the same thing happened!). The other drain cleaner I have is the Rigid 25' (they don't go any longer than that), which has all of the same features as the DrainEx but with a 1/4" cable that they call "Maxcore," which is significantly stronger and less likely to kink. DrainEx should either produce this product in 5/16" or 3/8" cable, or disassemble the DrainEx product and use their type of cable instead.
