Yes, I just received mine yesterday, and it does not retract with the drill or the hand turn. I looked inside the canister to see what was wrong, but there was nothing there for the end to grab onto as well. It's a shame because it defeats the purpose of it saying forward; I'll wait to hear from the manufacturer and hope for a solution.

I got a wad of long hair from a woman, and I mean a BIG wad! br>br>I deducted one star because the drill attachment spins without biting when used as one would expect. Pull back on your drill and, while still attached to the bit, hold the snake's handle with your other hand to create the bite you require. READ ON TO LEARN HOW TO SNAKE PROPERLY: br>br> br>Assist the snake with two feedings. The first was only about 10 feet away from the trap, and the second was a little further. Don't worry if this didn't unclog your drain, or if it actually caused the clog or worsened your small clog. It'll be all right! Then, since you're already there, make a second pass and feed as much snake as you can to clean out your pipes as much as possible. With this pass, you'll grab whatever caused the clog and possibly stuck to your pipes. Allow as much of that 25 feet as you can, but don't let out all of the cable or the connection to the drum will be lost. Let's say you want to shoot for 20 feet just to be safe. This is essential! br>br> br>Take your time with the second feed and don't rush it. Pull back and forth on your drill about five times each time you insert more cable into your pipes. This scrubs against the pipes' walls, removing any crud or grease that has accumulated. br>br>Last but not least, use a liquid drain cleaner. This isn't required, but it will help the cleaner do its job by eating up some of the remaining grease on your pipes. There should only be a thin layer of grease on them at this point. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes You can break up the clog with your hands, but that will be the end of it, allowing new clogs to form soon after.
Because I have long, thick hair, my bathroom drains are frequently clogged. I usually wait for my maintenance guy, but I figured I'd give it a shot and see if I could do it myself. Sure enough, it was so simple that I was able to remove a large clump of hair in less than five minutes. Anyone should be able to use this, as I'm a single woman in my fifties. HAHA!.
Given the numerous negative reviews of these auger products, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience, though, as many others have complained, the tightening bolt assembly immediately disintegrated when I used the device. It's unclear why it fell apart, but once I realized that it threads on counterclockwise and must be tightened with a wrench to stay in place, I immediately fixed the problem. br>I took advantage of the power feature and torqued the snake with my drill to completely clear out the drain line; Just be careful not to suffocate the snake by overdoing it.
With the help of this snake, I was able to clear a clog from my bath tub. It was well worth the money. I had previously attempted to use chemicals but had been unsuccessful. I will recommend you to anyone who is in need of your services.
We have a clogged bathroom sink. This is a nice product, but we have a major clog, so I'm going to call a plumber. I'll keep this auger for future use because it'll probably work on minor clogs.
Traditional tools were unable to clear a clog in my sink. The clog was about 5 feet down the pipe, so I put the snake down it and pushed until I couldn't anymore, then I attached my drill and was able to push even further. When I pulled the snake out, it was covered in hair and debris. The snake's tail is designed to retract all of the debris rather than pushing it deeper. Without this tool, I would not have been able to complete the task. Amazing!.
This product did not work right away. After you've double-checked the lock, you can proceed to the next step I twisted the handle for 5 minutes and the snake didn't extend because the screw wasn't holding it down. I yanked the snake out a little bit by hand. I then attempted to retract the snake using the handle, but it remained immobile. This test was carried out without the use of any drains. I'll be returning this item within one hour of receiving it.
It won't wind back up into the housing, and it doesn't work very well for the three minutes. I took advantage of the opportunity. I can't come back because it's too late. However, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS!.
