a very low current (* 2A), however, this valve got very hot after a long time if I tried leaving it on for a long period of time. It took me about 30 minutes to test my design, and I decided to remove the valve. Previously, I had been using this valve as a redundant, fail-safe valve, but I can't use it as a fail-safe valve since I tried limiting the current to the solenoid, but now it still gets The valve is not as good as it could be for this price The building was designed to be intermittently operated.
Thank you for your inquiry, Mike. This is a 3/8" NPT thread. In other words, the thread is tapered (it actually starts wider at the opening and tapers down slowly). There is no more than one standard for pipes (even the British standard has a tapered thread). Using objects that don't seal correctly or leak is likely if you use something that is not tapered. A thread gauge can be used to test the thread (I can send you a video if you like) and confirm its exact measurement.
That would be the case, I'm sure. I ordered one, but the first time I turned it on, it burned up. In the past, I used to have train horns which were connected to air and the electric valve was attached to the steering wheel of an ordinary train horn. I was really happy with how it worked
Unfortunately, I do not know the exact time of opening. I was only interested in opening that long to fill the fuel tank and closing to stop the

My original negative review below was posted about a day after it was posted, and almost immediately after that, the owner of the business acknowledged they had a manufacturing problem and issued me a credit. In addition to sending me a replacement as soon as possible, he asked me to call him directly. He answered the phone, so I called There is a Sunday in the week. In case you're interested in the background, I bought this solenoid over a year ago, but I just installed it last weekend, so I had already exceeded the warranty period, and they had no obligation to fix my issue. My impression was very good when he admitted manufacturers and suppliers had problems, and the units were being replaced. The man explained that some people do not understand that these types of valves are not designed to function under energized conditions (i. e. My particular need was also met by this arrangement (to open a small business in less than a Adding pressure to a LPG line for cooking on a boat/RV, and shutting the line off automatically when the switch is switched Furthermore, I found it to be consistent with solenoids from other manufacturers as well. Moreover, he explained that there are better solutions for valves that need to be maintained open over an extended period of time. As a result of installing the replacement solenoid, I was able to detect a difference in temperature and I can report that the drawing power decreased from two amps on the first unit to about one amp on the new one. The replacement had a current of 2 amps. We sailors are always concerned about battery draw since we usually sail for hours on end without using our engines. Unnecessarily using up our battery bank is not something we want to do. This is an excellent example of someone caring about their business enough to fix a problem after the warranty has expired - I am very impressed. The company should always be forthright when a manufacturing or supply issue arises. US Solid is now my preferred supplier, and I will go out of my way to buy from them I wrote the following in the original review I purchased this valve after I had to fix the system on my boat a year or so Having replaced my old solenoid, which was quite rusty but still worked, I finally got around to replacing it. My machine ran extremely hot when I hooked this up, reaching over 180 degrees on the outside. I had to replace the unit as soon as I hooked it up. As far as I can tell, this item is no longer for sale.
all of these along with a 38-gallon auxiliary diesel fuel tank and installation kit from DeeZee. The item "recommended" for purchase along with the other was this one. I have no complaints about the valve and it works correctly. The "0" was just too small for me to read. The specification states that five gallons per minute must be met. Test flow had a gravity flow of approximately 1 gallon/5 minutes with a 3/8" pipe fitting, 4mm orifice, and approximately 3' of 5/16 fuel hose. At first, I had no idea that my 2003 F250 6 could consume more fuel than the flow could keep up with. While towing a 10,000lb travel trailer, the motor is on 0 hp diesel. The valve was thus set to "on" while I was on a recent road trip to ensure that I did not run out of fuel. The valve also became exceedingly hot to the point that when I stopped, the valve had a "something is burning" smell and was definitely not to be touched. Consequently, I had this valve removed before my return trip and opted to use the manual valve that came with the DeeZee install kit instead. In this case, a small orifice valve worked much better than a large one. The 1/2" 12-inch valve is the one I would recommend if you need one of these With a flow specification of 6 gallons per minute, the VDC model has been created.
Having smoked for a while. The hot valves run on diesel fuel, and I was worried that running it through a hot valve might not be a good As a result, I hooked up the fuel line valve to my battery before connecting the fuel lines to it. Within minutes of plugging it in, the unit started smoking, but Amazon refunded my money without any My next step was to purchase a motorized ball valve, and that is working great. The latest update is now available. When I contacted the manufacturer, they offered to send me one of their new reconditioned units Solenoids designed for a particular purpose. That new solenoid is the subject of this review since I accepted their offer. It was hard for me to find the same results when I repeated the test that resulted in the first unit smoking. I measured the temperature with an IR thermometer, and after 10 minutes it was just warm to the touch (83F). My first impression of this unit was so bad that I started to wonder if it was just a bad unit. whatever the case may be, the unit works exactly as I had hoped. Thank you. Excellent customer service is what Solid does best.
My only disappointment was that it had a 4mm hole in the top. I used it to shut off a diesel aux tank, and because it metered fuel so slowly when open, I burned the fuel much faster than it would have allowed. The inner orifice is so small inside a threaded 3/8" part. Why does this need to be so?.
There is a lot of weight on this valve, indicating that it's a quality product. Specifically, I need it so I can feed it by gravity. However, it has a very small diameter on the inside, limiting its use to 3/8" ports. In an enclosed system, this would probably work well. Installing the driver but not returning to the website.
I had a different solenoid on my diesel tank that would overheat after about 15 gallons and shut off, but this one works well, even my switch isn't even getting hot anymore, very satisfied with it.
In the skip tank and on the filler neck of my truck, I use this to close off the air flow. My opinion is that this works really well. I love it. Although I have never explicitly checked to see if fuel passes by, I have never noticed a drop in fuel level in the slip tank, but I also have a positive displacement rotary vane pump plumbed adjacent to this valve and I'm sure no fuel can be let through it. In my opinion, this is a decent product that has a fair price and a decent overall sealed the wires attached to it with RTV silicone sealant because I wasn't a fan of how the wires were attached to it.
