Questions & Answers

Does this work on sewer cleanouts that are mounted on the wall?

Yes, it would work (pressure would build up and pop the spring), but it would overflow onto whatever was immediately beneath it, which might or might not be a problem. One of them is mounted sideways on a tall-boy. ish building foundation, which is a couple of inches below grass.

Isn't it made of plastic, despite the fact that it claims to be made of bronze?

Plastic is used in both of the two I received.

Is this plug's od close to 4", which is what I'm looking for? I had to send one back with a 4-digit od. 9/16"?

The 4-inch item's OD is 4-inches. The 3" (part 43509), on the other hand, is 4" in diameter.

What is the best way to get rid of it?

On one side of the cap, there is a notch. Punch it out in a counterclockwise direction with a punch and a rubber hammer. To avoid breaking the cap, take it easy when punching.

They're wonderful, but they're not MOWER PROOF! Extras should be bought
4/5

Screws into a 4" clean-cut hole with ease. out. I ordered four and installed two in my yard just before the septic tank; my reasoning is that if either one fails, it will still be below slab level. The only thing to remember is that they operate on the basis of spring pressure rather than mass weight. As a result, they aren't MOWER PROOF! The first time I mowed after installing them both, the one I mowed directly over launched the popper 20' away from the deck. I'm guessing the spring will be sucked out the next time the tank is cleaned. After that I just let the edge of the ZTR mower deck work the edge of the popper and that was fine. Perhaps a push mower would be ok but my is a JD BTW, they're a great company for fast shipping, and they don't charge much more for larger orders, so give your family and friends the gift of never having to shovel goo out of their basement again!.

The product is excellent, but the seller is currently unavailable
3/5

The price and quality of the product were excellent; however, the Seller's communication skills, the unusually long time it took to receive the items, and the way he simply does not listen to the Buyer were not. Thank you, Hugo, for finally sending the product I ordered on the same day I paid for it; however, the hassle you caused me was not worth doing business with you, which is a shame because you have a lot to offer other business owners. Thank you again for the perfect price on a box of perfect products, and thank you, Amazon, for issuing a refund when Hugo refused to respond to my numerous inquiries under your business guarantee. It still doesn't make up for the work delays I've had, the time I've wasted, or the annoyance I've felt.

Stop the sewage from backing up outside
5/5

ups and downs in your residence! This is fantastic. Prevents your home's furnishings from being ruined by sewer line blockages that occur outside your home. Unfortunately, we won't be able to help you with any blockages beneath your home. We had one of these sewer relief valves cleaned out in our front yard sewer line. It's been about 20 years since it's been on the market. Our downstairs toilet began to gurgle a few weeks ago as our clothes washer poured a ton of water into our sewer line, and I looked out the front window to see a flood of water pouring out of the sewer relief valve that is installed on our sewer line clean-out. out. What a magnificent sight. What a breath of fresh air (no pun intended). All of that water could have been dumped in our powder room, where it would have flooded a closet and the carpeted downstairs area. This is the least expensive type of sewer back-up. I ordered this one so that I could install a second one on our second sewer clean-up project. out. It is preferable to have two people than to have just one. A word of warning, though. The sewer relief valve is approximately 4 inches in diameter. 5 inches in diameter, to match the sewer clean-out opening out, but, as you can see from the amazon listing, it's ordered as a 4" com's explanation If you order a 4" and receive a 3-inch version, you will be disappointed. You got the wrong one, it was 5" in diameter. A final word of caution is in order. The cap on a sewer line is frequently unscrewed by homeowners to clean it. out and simply place it back in the opening without securing it with a screw. This is similar to a sewer relief valve in terms of function. When there is a back-up of water, it pushes the sewer cap off. The water freely flows out of the opening. Animals and people, on the other hand, regularly knock the caps off the clean-up containers. out hole, which remains open to accept leaves, dirt, and anything else that can get into it, including small animals and snakes. Garbage, animals, and snakes that get into the opening can cause a sewer line backup, resulting in a costly plumbing bill. Imagine opening the toilet lid to find a snake staring back at you. After a backed-up sewer line, a spring closes this sewer relief valve. The water that had been accumulating has now pushed its way out. Shipping one is the same as shipping four, so it's a good deal. Purchase additional supplies. Give them to your neighbors as a Christmas present. a gift that gives and gives and gives and gives and gives and gives and gives and gives and gives and gives.

This is an excellent concept
5/5

I love the concept of these because I've had a sewer line back up into my house before (one of life's more disgusting experiences). br>br>Thank goodness we haven't had to put them to the test in the two years since we put them in. However, they appear to be well-made, the plug moves freely, so I am confident that they will function if needed, and they were simple to install.

It does exactly what you want it to do
5/5

I still have a problem with roots clogging my line, but I don't have to worry about it backing up into the house any longer! Until you can solve the problem properly, this is a perfect solution. The spring is just the right strength to only open when needed (it doesn't take much water to open it) and then close again as soon as you're finished relieving. Previously, I had to leave the clean out plug completely unplugged just in case, which is obviously not a good idea because rodents, snakes, and other animals can get inside. To try to prevent this while still allowing water to flow through, I used hardware cloth weighed down by rocks. This, on the other hand, is a much better option.

Five out of five stars
3/5

If you enjoy cleaning flooded bathrooms, this is a fantastic idea. It appears to be of high quality. br>Follow up with: I installed it and had a mainline clog as a result. It did its job and allowed the house to drain into the yard until it became clogged with toilet paper, at which point it plugged, allowing sewage from an upstairs toilet to flood the entire first floor. As a result, I reduced my rating from five to two stars. This is a hazardous item because it gives the impression of safety. I threw it away and went back to my old method of not threading the cleanout's normal cap. I wish I hadn't tried this product because it saved several flooded houses (roots in the mainline).

The issue has been resolved
5/5

We used to go outside in the rain to unscrew the cap to keep the city sewer from backing up into the house, and this simple device has already saved the bathroom floor from a surprise Florida downpour. It popped up and vented the sewer pressure outside before closing itself. Simply unscrew the old one and replace it with this one.

Keeps sewer backups out of your house
5/5

Do you despise the smell of sewage? In the event of a backup, these replace the outside cleanout plugs in your sewer system, allowing sewage to escape outside. Insurance at a low cost for an obnoxious problem!.
