Brass. Also, the steel plunger has a rubber gasket on it, which you should inspect if you receive one. The rubber seal on mine was broken. WHEN PUTTING IT TOGETHER, THERE WAS NO QUALITY CONTROL, THE SEAL WAS BAD AND CUT IN MANY PLACES. If I had used it, I could have gotten severely burned.
I use it to control the burner's speed, so it's only 1 at a time.

I bought a Nexgrill tailgate grill because I needed something small and light. Even on the lowest setting, however, the device would catch fire. I couldn't get anything to cook slowly enough for me. I installed this, and now I can get the temperature below 200°F, allowing me to smoke meat on it if I wanted to. All I need to do now is get used to adjusting it. I've accidentally extinguished the flame on several occasions by setting the temperature too low. Between the regulator and the grill, I inserted it into the tubing. Rubber tubing with a 5/16 inside diameter has been used. I purchased two fittings to complete the installation. One male threaded 5/16" barbed X 1/4" NPT fitting and one female threaded 5/16" barbed X 1/4" NPT fitting Two small hose clamps are also included. Now I can adjust the temperature of my grill to my liking.
This is an excellent valve for regulating the temperature of my propane grill. Prior to this addition, I couldn't get my smoker below 300 degrees. I can now run at 225° without difficulty on a regular basis. I bought the adapters I needed to splice this inline between the burner and the regulator at a local big box hardware store. To ensure proper propane flow, make sure to follow the arrow on the valve's body. My only gripe with this valve is that it makes a high-pitched whistle when it's closed enough to allow me to run my smoker at 225°. I'm surprised it doesn't elicit a bark from every dog in my neighborhood! It's a fantastic valve in every other way. If I had a need for it, I would buy it again.
The flame in your smoker can be fine-tuned with this heavy-duty valve, which comes with quick delivery and a reasonable price.

This one is far superior to the one that comes with the Bayou cooker. It has a greater degree of precision.
I purchased a Masterbuilt smoker from Home Depot and discovered that it was difficult to regulate the temperature, particularly at lower temperatures. This needle valve (along with some fittings from Home Depot) allowed me to lower the flame setting and achieve the low cooking temperature required by my recipe.
It took a few more fittings to make it work because the valve is 1/4" NPT and my regulators are 3/8" so it took a few more fittings to make it work, but once everything was ironed out, it worked very well.
It was exactly what I needed to cut down on the gas flow to my gas grill.
