The steel is of exceptional quality. Everywhere you look, there's a great bread knife.
They still make them with a black handle. If you live in Queens, you can get them at Winco, which is located on Northern Blvd and 43 Street.
I didn't specify whether or not I wanted a gift box with my purchase. If I were giving it as a gift, I would order it and have it shipped to me, where I would wrap it and send it to the recipient. By the way, this is an excellent bread knife.
There is no sheath included, only a thin plastic sleeve.

Not with THIS NEW KNIFE, though. It's absolutely stunning. Slices that are thin and clean. There isn't much effort involved, and it's all very straightforward. slicing. I'm totally smitten. And my rye bread has never looked better or been more evenly baked. br>br>The old knives are in the trash can, and I'm overjoyed (as is my hand and wrist!).
Certainly not any longer! This is an incredible knife. It feels great in my hand, has a sturdy blade that doesn't bend when cutting, and the cutting design slices through bread quickly without crushing it. For years, I've had a small Victorinox paring knife with similar serrations that I use for tomatoes and other small tasks. I have no idea why it took me so long to purchase their bread knife.
The blade is thin enough to splice cakes, but the teeth are shaped to prevent delicate sponges from being torn apart. This is also fantastic for slicing crusty bread. Also works well as a meat cutting knife. br>The blade has a nice slight angle to it, and the handle is comfortable to hold for long periods of time. br>It takes an incredibly long time for this knife to dull. So far in my life, I believe I've only purchased three, one of which was due to the fact that I had forgotten about it at my previous job.
When the knife arrived, I was surprised at how large it was, but it has proven to be the best knife I've ever owned; another reviewer mentioned how thinly you can slice things with this knife, which is absolutely correct. I'm constantly putting myself to the test to see how thin I can make my cuts.
It is extremely useful. It comes in handy for slicing a wide range of bread loaves. Brioche-like in texture, but tough enough to stand up to hard crusted loaves.
Most modern bread knives have deep, pointy serrations that shred breads with softer interiors and scatter crumbs all over the place. It makes you wonder if the people who design things ever put them to the test in the real world.
But I'm always complaining that I don't have a good bread knife, and then they bring theirs. Wow, what a nice cuttingbr>knife; I decided to purchase one as well.
It cuts through bread with ease and consistency, without tearing it. Even delicate crusted breads can be sliced quickly and cleanly, and the blade's length allows even large round sourdough boules to be easily sliced.
