I double-checked just for you, my good man. If the very tip of the blade is counted, my total is 28. Enjoy.
This is a knife, not a knife block; if you have a knife block with an open slot, that's 1. This knife will fit in a 25" or wider opening.
If you mean the distance between the edge and the blade's spine, it's close to an inch. Ours is consistently 1 1/8" wider than the blade's length, according to my measurements. So, no, it's not a single inch.

A. Henckels collection is now complete. I didn't really need this knife, but the block had one empty slot left, and. . . For bagels, br>br> I was using the 5-grain bread on the other hand. serrated utility knife that came with the original set of tools. It was adequate, but it was short; however, this large, sturdy knife is ideal - It can rip a bagel apart like a chainsaw and is large enough to hold the largest loaf of bread. I haven't tried it on soft bread yet, but I'm sure a light touch will suffice. br>br>Jacob Henckels, you did a fantastic job. Your knives (along with my Lodge cast iron) are the pride of my kitchen, and they've served me well for many years. Every knife in the set is as sharp as it was when I bought it twelve years ago.
Knife arrived with a rust spot on the blade, but the price is unbeatable. The knife's top was not polished, and the coarse grit of the grinder wheel used to finish it was visible. On the handle, the rivets aren't centered. This company's reputation for quality was not reflected in this situation. ’I’m a little disappointed except for the fact that it was 55% off. ’I’m a little disappointed except for the fact that it I'm still satisfied with the price. Just keep in mind that the person who made this knife was most likely still learning because it clearly slipped past quality control.
I've recently begun baking my own sourdough bread on a regular basis, as have many others. I was looking for a good bread knife, and this one fit the bill. It's razor sharp, has a nice heft to it, and feels great in the hand, making cutting my loaves a breeze!.
They've come a long way in a short amount of time. I was astounded at how well it handled not only breads, but also ripe tomatoes, which it sliced paper thin in one smooth pass. It's mostly a case of letting gravity do the work when it comes to cutting a thick sandwich perfectly. This is my go-to knife for a wide range of tasks.
I've had some lower-cost, lower-quality bread knives in the past, but I try to stick with this brand because it's of excellent quality and will last for years.
It's great for cutting hoagies in half as well as slicing bread. It can be stored in a knife rack. Some bread knives have a wavy edge to them. y is far too long and thin. That is not the case for me. That's the case with this 7" model.
During quarantine, I became interested in bread making, but I had yet to purchase a proper bread knife. I make a delicate no-knead bread that is light and airy. As a result, when I tried to cut it with my Wusthof chef's knife, I ended up with jagged messes of slices for sandwiches; after using this knife just once, I can't believe I didn't invest sooner! I'm very happy and impressed with this knife; it's worth every penny. It cut super thin slices with ease and was able to easily break through the very hard crust bottom that Dutch oven breads have.
Because someone ordered one and I ordered one, I ended up with two of these. I suppose I'll have to give one back. Bread knives are part of my collection. I enjoy making crusty breads but despise having to squish it to cut it. I've been disappointed by a number of bread knives in recent years. This was the first one I liked because it handled the cut so well. It was simple to slice and there was no struggle with the bread. Unlike some of the reviews I've read here, I'm hoping it stays that way. The knife is handcrafted in Spain from forged steel, and it is not mass produced anywhere else.
