In most new RVs, a filter is now installed between the water tank and the pump. This is an excellent choice. As long as they aren't clogged, they don't appear to reduce the flow. But that's why they're there in the first place if they become clogged. Cleaning the filter, on the other hand, is a breeze. br>Gilbert Hames is a writer who lives in the United States.
My strainer is in the down position and I have it in front of the water pump.

It was a success! At the wall connection, the threads are identical. I think I put an o- in there somewhere. I don't remember the last time I heard the phone ring. Note that when the filter is configured this way, it operates in reverse of normal use mode, collecting scale outside the screen. It doesn't matter; it still works fine; it is only pressurized when the shower is turned on in this application. I remove the cover every now and then, turn on the shower, and rinse the scale into the drain.
A strainer was not included in the installation of my water pump. The strainer is a low-cost device that keeps your pump running if the water source becomes clogged with debris. It's far easier to clean the filter than it is to service the pump.
It's that simple. Before the pump, there was no inline water filter in my restored RV. I replaced the pump and added this strainer to protect it from debris in the tank and keep it out of my water system.
It would have been simple to install had the rv manufacturer not placed the pump behind and beneath the furnace. Wish there was a way to buy just the clear cap because that's the only part that can break due to freezing or cross threading.
I'm not sure how much I can say about it, but I like this strainer a lot. This one was VERY easy to install with the swivel nut and much easier to remove the basket on than the one I replaced, which was older and completely inline.
After experiencing water issues, the old one became severely clogged, so we decided to replace it. This fit perfectly in place of the old one and did a fantastic job!.
What's not to like about it? It's a perfect match for the original.
