Hello, yes, the strainer will work for your application; however, if the chemical is chlorine, the housing material will soften over time, as nylon has a "fair" rating with chlorine.

This was ideal for removing debris from an old fuel tank. I simply connected it to a fuel pump and used it to recirculate fuel within the tank. The solids were separated from the fuel right away. It enables me to dispose of the trash and proceed. When there are no more solids collecting in the tank, I know it's clean. This is a fantastic tool that is well worth the money.
This can be used to transfer liquid from a kettle to a carboy (50 mesh) or from a carboy to an 80 mesh keg. Silicone tubing in the size of 1/2" can be used. There is no requirement for clamping. It's a simple way to get rid of some of the garbage that ends up in your beer.
I have a 6 nozzle sprayer that performs admirably for the amount of water it can handle.
