Hello. Yes, the stainless steel filter screens can be replaced. Because we don't sell them on Amazon, you'll have to order them directly from VacMotion. SE-Screen is the strainer's included screen. 50CSS - You can use the website to look up that part number.
It's only been used to strain water for me so far. I'm not sure if the material used to make this strainer will withstand being exposed to gasoline.

I used two of these on our two humidifiers that were already plumbed. Our basement floor was flooded twice as a result of one of the leaks. The cover unscrewed by itself for the first time. The cover threads broke for the second time. Both strainers' clear covers discolored, making it impossible to see inside, defeating the purpose of having see-through strainers in the first place. by going between the covers I swapped out both strainers for brass strainers, which are more expensive but safer.
The sediment in our old hot water heater is starting to build up. Every month, we'd have to clean our old kitchen faucet. As a result, we needed a way to strain the hot water before it went into our new kitchen faucet. Our heater is set to around 130 degrees F, and our water pressure is around 40 psi, so this strainer should work fine and we haven't had any issues so far. During the winter, we also shut down our summer house so that the strainer can be drained after the water supply has been turned off.
I ordered two of these, and the second one broke during installation due to the plastic threads. I can't seem to find any in this size with a metal thread, which I need for a high-pressure system (80-100 PSI). I need to be able to tighten it to 100 psi, so I'll need to be able to do so. So I'll look for something else to do as a replacement. I'm hoping they're not both complete squanders of cash.
The mesh screen is easy to install and functions properly. It appears that the product will last a long time.
I put this in front of my washing machine, which was getting clogged with grit. It's performed admirably and maintains full flow, resulting in shorter washer cycle times. Cleaning is simple.
What else is there to ask for? It fit. It works. It was a reasonable price. It arrived in a timely manner. It's a 1/2", double female, in-line, in-line, in-line, in-line, in-line, in-line, in-line, in strainer for lines This will do the trick if that's what you're looking for.
Because some of my PVC pipes are above ground, algae grows inside the tubing and eventually breaks off, clogging things up. When I have to saw through pipes, this is ideal for catching crud and pvc shavings.
This is what I used on my 75 gallon tank. An electric pump is used to power a chemical weed sprayer. Because of their small size, the screens on the nozzles kept clogging. This improves the flow rate and allows me to remove the screens from the nozzles, resulting in a much better spray pattern.
