Questions & Answers
What would connect the circuit by holding the wire inside the barrel? This is accomplished by the crimp.
There is no solder on these. Yes, they'll work in an engine compartment as long as they're not too close to the exhaust and you don't try to melt solder that isn't in them. They should be crimped.
Only crimp over the metal tube on both sides, not just the heat shrink tubing.
These are intended for low-voltage wires, not for household appliances.

I had purchased several Butt Connectors from various sources only to discover that after crimping the connector, I was able to pull the wire out with minimal effort. I didn't care as much about the Heat Shrink feature as I did about having a strong connector. I put these connectors to the test and discovered that when I crimped my wire into the connector, the crimp was extremely tight. I couldn't get the wire out of the connector or twist it into the connector. Thank you for producing such a high-quality item.
Using a notch for insulated connectors on the Klein crimping and cutting tool for connectors (1005) and Klein-Klein-Klein-Klein-Klein-Klein-Klein-Klein-Klein Using the 16-inch Kurve® Wire Stripper / Crimper / Cutter Multi Tool (1019), you can easily pull apart the crimp. On the klein Ratcheting Crimper, there is a 22 red notch, and there are 10 red notch on the ratcheting crim 22 AWG - Insulated Terminals (3005CR) produces a crimp that cannot be pulled apart but digs deeply into the insulation, almost to the inner glue layer. Excellent results were obtained using all of these tools on Tyco duraseal connectors that were tested using the same tools and conditions. I ordered the TICONN Crimping Tool for Heat Shrink Connectors (30J) and it works much better. I would recommend getting this tool or another pair of single crimp racheting crimpers as the crimping pliers built into many pliers don't seem to make a good crimp and the double crimp ratcheting crimpers displace a little too much insulation for my liking.
I was able to heat-up my food. With a lighter, I was able to successfully seal a few of these. The end result wasn't pretty, but it seemed to keep the wires spliced. br>br>After that, I found out about.
br>br>It is, and I can only assume that the positive reviews are from people who haven't properly tested the joint. br>br>The metal used to be squashed and crimped is incorrect; the red ones will pull apart after crimping, while the blue ones, strangely, have slightly better holding power. br>br>If you buy these, make sure the wire you're crimping is strong enough to hold the joint together rather than relying on the shrinking process. br>br>The fact is that many manufacturers are using the wrong type of metal in these Chinese mad connectors, whereas those purchased from electrical wholesalers appear to work fine, are a lot more expensive, and do exactly what they should.
Excellent crimp grip and excellent quality. I wish I'd known about these a long time ago because it would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation during installations. Don't hesitate to buy.
With the proper tools, it's simple to use. I bought the crimping tool and used my heat gun to melt and shrink the tubes because I'm doing my own alarm and radio installation. They're a cinch to use. Great.
For a wire harness for a truck climate control module, I required a blue connector. These were perfect for connecting the 14gauge and 18gauge wires (I didn't have to double up the 18 on my vehicle because they were too big when I tried). I melted the shrink tubing with a small heat gun, and when it was finished, glue was visible coming out the ends. I'm not sure if they'd work well in a boat, but they looked nice. I'd probably overengineer a boat and use a 3:2 ratio if I owned one. To be 100% certain, 1 adhesive heat shrinks over the top of these. I used a Titan crimper with teeth for an insulated butt connector, and it worked perfectly.
It's nice to work with a company that doesn't require you to purchase an entire store's worth of merchandise in order to get what you require. If you need to customize your use of these and only need the barrel connection for really tight spaces, this is a simple to use and easy to strip option. (If necessary, you can use your own heat shrink. ) Thank you for a fantastic product!.
