I just completed a 100% rewire of a flatbed trailer using exclusively these connectors. I was blown away by the quality of these connectors, both in terms of crimping/wire retention and the heat shrinkable insulation's performance. Recommended by a friend: Make use of a ratchet of good quality. Crimping tool for different styles. If at all possible, use a heat gun, rather than a torch. Hold the connection still for a few seconds after shrinking the insulation to allow the insulation and weatherproofing material to solidify completely. You'll get a dependable, professional-looking person as a result of doing so. It appears to be a sturdy installation that will withstand years of hard work and bad weather!.
Also, the quantity you get from these stores is usually 4 or 5 pieces at a very high cost, so buying in bulk is well worth the effort; additionally, when it comes time to do a job on the boat, car, or whatever, you won't have to waste time running to the store because you have enough product in this box to bail you out.
I bought this product to repair a friend's trailer wiring; it works great as long as you clean the wire ends before using it; the only flaw I discovered was that the protective plastic coating melts before the solder melts. When heating the soldering iron, take your time.
After buying and returning the 50 pack of red heat shrink butt connectors from the part store, I was relieved to find something more worth my money, but the box arrived missing one of the clasps on the box, so I'm afraid I'll end up making a mess with my 660 piece set; however, I'm mostly satisfied.
This is an excellent link. Each end of the barrel is the perfect size for crimping. Previous purchases had been much shorter and more difficult to crimp. Heat shrink tubing is a type of tubing that shrinks when heated. also very good Excellent Product.
This product was used to connect the brakes to the electrical in my RV. The factory-supplied connectors were not watertight. I'm no longer concerned about bad connections because of these.
These are traditional crimp types, not spider types as I was led to believe.
At the shop, we rely on them frequently. The heat shrink glue does a great job of sealing them up.
