AT THE TIP, THE TAPER REAM IS NOT VERY SHARP. AS A RESULT, I BELIEVE THE REAM'S RANGE IS ABOUT 1/8 INCH TO 1/2 INCH.

This is a 10 degree included angle for deburring, as far as I can tell. I'm going to use it as a template for making dowels. To form a perfectly shaped dowel, the octagon dowel will be fed into a hardwood block with this reamers size for control. "Check out Rob Cosman's doweled boxes on U-Haul," says the author. Tube"

For two reasons, I ordered this item: It has a hex shank, making it convenient to use with a cordless hand drill. as well as the fact that the item's dimensions are listed as "5" in the item description 04 x 0. 79 x 0. 79 inches," which I took to mean that it could ream a hole up to 3/4" (i. e. e, 0. The diameter of the circle is 75 inches. WRONG! Only a half-inch is the maximum diameter. I'm not sure where the "0" is supposed to go. This is where the "79 inches" figure comes from. You can imagine my disappointment when you consider that all of the holes I planned to make were between 1/2" and 3/4" (13–19mm) in diameter. The item can still be used to deburr a larger-scale project in a clumsy "stirring" motion. than- 1/2- inch hole, but it's not at all what I had in mind. br>br>I'd gladly buy this tool if the seller offered a version that actually reams 3/4" holes, but that doesn't appear to be the case. (*womp- womp*).
I've used it to ream wood, plastic, and 2mm steel with ease. The blades have maintained their sharpness and can be used again - Metal of excellent quality.
I won't use this tool very often because it's a specialized tool. The bridge pin holes on a guitar needed to be enlarged. I bought it because it was cheap and I could use it for what it was designed for. I'd look elsewhere if you need this on a regular basis because the metal isn't finely machined. Although this tool can be loaded into a drill bit chuck, I chose to use it by hand because I was fine-tuning an existing hole.
Took out the caster wheels on my mechanic stool and replaced them with larger ones. 12mm is the diameter of the caster stem. This was ideal for enlarging the opening. I also smoothed out the drilling with cutting oil. Like butter on a knife!.
It works great, and I like that I can connect it to a drill. I dislike how sloppy the handlebar is. But it's something I'd order again.
This was the best I could find on Amazon, but the shaft isn't straight, so it wobbles. I'm going to give it away.
Used to clean up guitar bridge pin holes after bridge reglue, this tool is extremely sharp. It's a keeper, and it's a nice addition to the luthier's toolkit.
very good.
