Yes, I believe it was designed to be used with electric drills, which is why I purchased it, and it performed admirably; however, it depends on what you're using it for.
Selected User Reviews For Enkay 382-C 3-Inch Wood Saw 1/4-Inch Shank, Carded
Item performed admirably for the purpose for which I purchased it. Which was a very short run of cuts through some worn-out particleboard; it doesn't give very accurate cuts, it's slow, and it's unlikely to last for very long. However, for the short and simple task I needed it for, it performed admirably. After that, it went straight to the trash can. I suppose it has some value from that perspective, especially since it isn't expensive.
This was purchased for a one-time project and has proven to be effective. My only concern is for the safety of myself and others. There is no safety guard on this saw, unlike all of the other saws I use, and drill bits are much smaller.
It's a good idea, but it's not practical for everyday tasks that require a saw. Because the blade is so flimsy, it's only good for small jobs. It was unable to complete the task that I required. I can see it being useful for very light tasks like crafting projects and so on.
Cut a 3/4-inch hole in the 3/4-inch oak floor. It is highly recommended.
It has a razor-like edge to it. It was a pain to use because the cutting wheel would come loose from the shaft. When the saw wheel was fixed and not spinning freely, it was extremely sharp and cut well.
Cutting of wood is a disaster.
I tried to make a toilet flange out of a 3 inch ABS pipe. For this purpose, it was ineffective.
It's a powerful little cutter.
