Yes, they work well on both sides of the door. Thank you, ZZem Screwbr>
Hello Joe, the drill bit is a 5/16" bit. ZZem Screw thanks you for your question.
A total of four screws are included in one pack.
My shop has a wooden framed metal clad outside door, which I'm not an expert on. The door would occasionally be yanked open by the wind, loosening the screws. The upper screws wore away, making it difficult to close and lock the door. br>On the internet, I discovered the ZZen door screw repair kit, which is the best door invention since the hinge. This is a good all-in-one kit that is simple to install and makes the door stronger than it was before. I was overjoyed to come across this repair part. It's also beneficial to purchase a product that is manufactured in the United States and is owned by a veteran. Thank you for your time and effort. George D. Nam 64/66 MR3, MR3, MR3, MR3, MR3, MR

I was remodeling a condo and had to replace all of the interior doors and trim. After removing the front door trim to match the new interior trim, I discovered that the door frame had a huge gap all the way around it, no shims, and a slew of 3" staples holding it in place. It's no surprise that the door was always rattling and squeaking. Pushing the frame outwards on both sides was all it took to get in. I tried using 3 1/2" screws in the hinges/latch plates right away, but this just bowed the frame and pulled the door to one side. I fixed the latch side by cutting a couple of staples and shimming the latch plates with 5/8" plywood. To make it stronger, I used wood glue to secure the plywood to the door frame, then re-hung it. 3-inch strike plates were installed on the strike plates. To keep everything in place, use 1/2" screws. On the latch side, I also glued/screwed a couple of small plywood shims to square everything up. However, there were too many staples on the hinge side to do so without completely dismantling the frame. Because the gap on this side was even wider, I decided to try the ZZem screws/anchors, which worked perfectly. I used 12 of them as shims to hold the door frame in place against the stud. It was a total success. By prying the frame into place before setting each group of four hinge anchors (plus a shim), I was able to fine-tune the door and frame so that they line up perfectly on both sides. I don't expect any future issues because the door no longer applies any force to the frame (all of the load is now on the 12 anchors buried in the studs), and I also added 12 more anchors where the hinges attach to the door, so it'll take a lot of work to knock this thing loose going forward. br>br>The only thing that would make this product better is 2- Steel anchors instead of brass anchors with 1/2" screws and more threading I tried to find some longer 9 hinge screws, but the threads weren't quite right. Even if I could find a longer screw with matching threads, I noticed that the threads only go in a standard screw length, so no extra bite. It is unlikely to make much of a difference because an attack would primarily apply shear force to the screw rather than pulling force. A longer screw/anchor thread would only add strength in my case, because I also use the anchor as a shim. br>br>Thanks for a great product; I just ordered some more to ensure that the new solid core doors I installed don't come loose when I rent this place out in the future. I had previously secured these with 3" screws, but I believe these anchors will hold up better and last longer. It never ceases to amaze me how many things renters manage to break.
When I noticed that the small screws have wood-like threads for this price, I was taken aback. screw- It has a notch on the thread to "bite" into the wood, just like thread. br>br>I consider this to be a flaw in the design because:
- In this application, where it goes into a metal fastener, the thread could be much more durable, and the seller could remove the "do not over tighten" comments, as the risk of breaking the threads would be much lower. br>- the notch (a small cutout at the end of a screw thread that allows it to cut through wood more easily) - > When it comes to wood, this is beneficial; however, in this case, it is detrimental. > It allows the thread to be damaged if it is not completely stripped, which is exactly what happened with my order - > One of the four small screws had a flaw in that cutout, and I couldn't screw it in any further than halfway into the larger screws without destroying the thread. Everything worked after I replaced it with a metal screw (same thread size and head, but not cut out) - > Manufacturers can fix this without changing the design by simply replacing the smaller screws that come with the product. br>br>Aside from that, everything about the product appears to be excellent, and it keeps my door securely shut. I deducted a star because the screws included were ineffective (in my opinion) - > I put it in the simple to install section because you have to be very careful or buy different screws.
The hinge screws were extremely loose, and it was only a matter of time before the frame was yanked out with it. I debated for about 2 days whether I wanted to spend the money on this kit, but because of the positive reviews and the fact that it's made in America, I felt I could justify it. Let me say, best $60 I've ever spent on home improvement! I had my door swinging like it was supposed to in under 15 minutes after installing this kit in the top hinge (4 sleeves/screws) with nothing more than my drill and some drill bits (includes large size drill bit, phillips and torx head in the kit). I'm going to go ahead and install the rest of the kit on my other doors that aren't having issues right now just to be safe. After seeing how well it worked, I would gladly recommend this kit for up to $100 simply for the ease of use and cost savings over hiring a professional to fix the doors. Definitely a five-star rating.
My son's bedroom door has been hung for the second time, and it looks great. Solid hinges on the jam side! I wish I had purchased a second kit when I purchased the first, because he ripped the door off the hinges again shortly after installing this one. On the other hand, this time at the front door- Fortunately, I still had two of the screw-drivers on hand. I was able to re-assemble the bolts because there were still some left. it should be hung up once more It certainly makes a difference in my shoddy construction home! I strongly advise anyone who needs to re-energize to read this book. Especially if you're using the less-expensive option, hang doors. either pricey or ineffective core doors, or if your home's framing is in need of repair.
