Questions & Answers

Has it lived up to your expectations, for those of you who bought it? I'm hoping it'll hold up to our 60-pound ebikes. ?

We have a Fat Boy, two cruisers, and a road bike, and they all hold them just fine. We had a lot of success with these. The hardware was the only flaw in the system. My husband's drywall anchors were probably his own. Apart from that, everything is wonderful!

Is this a Chinese or American product? thanks?

China is where the racks are made.

Is it possible to ride a fat tire bike with this?

On the Steadyrack Bike Rack website, you can find out what size to order for a Fat Tire bike.

A 20-inch tire width is suggested by the Mountain Bike rack. 29" incl. Is it possible to ride a 29er bike without the fat rack?

I have two 29ers and they are ideal; the width of the tires is more of a concern. Mine have two. I'm 4' wide and it fits perfectly, and I really like the racks. I have 5.

Removes the bicycles from the ground
5/5

In about an hour, I was able to install all three of them. I would recommend using a good stud finder to help center the fasteners to the studs, as I offset the racks and installed them sixteen inches apart. It's still fairly simple to set up. Getting used to removing and installing the bikes will take some time. You'll need to remove a pedal and loosen the handle bars if you want the bikes to be flush. The bikes stick out thirty-six inches from the wall and sixty-eight inches along the wall in the way I have them installed if I leave everything alone. The rims on both mountain bikes are twenty-nine inches in diameter.

These shelves are fantastic. You save a lot of room! br>I ride a 27-inch plus tire enduro/trail bike. 5 x 2. No problem with the size 8, it fits perfectly. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.

IT WORKS PERFECTLY! It was a breeze to set up
5/5

But. It takes some practice to load your bike onto it. However, once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. I'm a female who stands 5'4" tall and weighs only 100 pounds. When I first tried to load my bike onto the rack, I had a lot of trouble. However, I discovered that when you tip your bike up on the back tire, you must keep the back brake engaged. Once the bike is raised on the back tire, release the brake and roll the bike straight onto the rack. Hold the back brake again when removing the bike from the rack. When the bike has rolled away from the rack, release the brake, roll the bike back, release the brake, and lower the front tire. It's a piece of cake now that I know what to expect. I like how the bike is elevated off the ground, allowing me to swing it out of the way while still getting the car into the garage.

Great racks, but mounting through sheet rock is a challenge
4/5

In our condo's coat closet, I had a very limited amount of space to store my and my husband's mountain bikes. Because of the positive feedback and ease of installation, I decided on these racks. Advantages: br>br> Super sturdy, great swivel, and lots of resources on their website to help you figure out how to hang them (I had to stagger them due to the tight space). br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The anchors that come with the 1/2" bolts for use in sheetrock or masonry aren't very good. I decided to use them because I could get at least one bolt screwed into the wood on both the top and bottom. The bolts come out of the wall slightly when you pull the rack away from the wall (there is some resistance when offloading your bike). I didn't have much of a say in where I mounted these (due to the limited space, I had to use sheet rock if I couldn't line it up with a stud). However, I strongly advise you to either 1) obtain your own wall anchors or 2) mount these where they can be aligned with a stud. The rack's actual construction is fantastic, so if you can get the attachment to the wall securely fastened, you'll be golden. br>br>Overall, I think these racks are great.

The best bike racks for mounting on the wall! This is fantastic! To allow my three bikes to lay flat against the wall, I spaced them 32" apart and mounted them on every other stud
5/5

I adjusted the mounting height of each unit slightly so that the handle bars could rest against the wall. Bars and seats would have collided if they had all been mounted at the same height. If space is an issue, have a second person assist with the installation to maximize handle bar clearance and space savings. Mine was in a fairly cramped space with limited floor space.

We'll be well worth your time and money
5/5

We're in our 60s, my husband and I. We had made an e-commerce purchase. When we weren't using the bikes, we wanted them to be as hidden as possible. Our search for a solution to our garage space problems was unsuccessful. We first tried using ceiling hooks, but our bikes were far too heavy to be lifted that high. Then we went out and bought a cheap wall-mounted double bike rack. It was a pain to put together, but once done, it appeared to be just what we needed. . . until we realized it was only for "male" bikes. Our bicycles are equipped with step-through frames. br>However, when I saw these on Amazon, I thought to myself, "Wow, this looks pretty good. " The racks themselves are very low profile, so to load a bike, we simply adjusted the height (as instructed) so that we could leave the back tire on the floor and roll the bike up onto the rack. There will be no lifting! The best part is that once you've loaded it, the bike swivels to the wall (in either direction) and stays out of the way. Genius!.

It's difficult to set up! We had to order these bike racks from Cape Town, South Africa, because we couldn't find anything comparable in the United States
4/5

br>We're running out of space in our garage, so these are the perfect solution. To be honest, it wasn't as easy as the instructions or the video made it appear! We hired a handyman to put them up, and the first attempt was unsuccessful because the racks were too high for the bike to be wheeled into. We have electric bicycles that are quite heavy. We had them reinstalled, and while we can still wheel the bikes in, the tyres now rest on the floor, making it difficult to angle the bikes and keep the tyre in the wall holder.

You only require Steadyrack
5/5

After much research, I decided on steadyrack- a fantastic option. br>Don't waste time looking at other possibilities. They're a little pricey (I bought four), but if you're short on space and want to be able to fold them up against a wall for even more space, they're worth it. these should be bought br>br>Because I didn't have any other option but to mount in drywall, I used lag bolts, which worked perfectly.
