According to the specifications, the unit can hold 150 cards on each side, but I wouldn't go over 37. Each bike should have 5s per rung on one side, or the bikes could be hung by their wheels across both rungs.
Each arm is 25 inches long, allowing a ladder width of 25 inches to be accommodated. The vast majority of ladders have rungs that are 16 inches wide, so they should be stored. I have plenty of room to store a 16-foot extendable ladder and a Werner telescoping 18-foot multi-adjustable ladder.
I don't see why you couldn't use it in an enclosed trailer if you could secure it to the ceiling properly. The included hardware is wood lag bolts, which are designed to be used on typical wood ceiling joists, but if anchoring all the way metal, you could use nuts and bolts and seal the exposed hardware with silicone. You'll want to make sure your trailer's ceiling support struts can handle the weight of the hangers and ladders combined. I'm not sure if a typical trailer would be designed for that, as trailers are typically designed to be as light as possible for towing.
It comes in a set of two and is ready to use. It works great; just make sure you anchor each one to a joist.

I'll never understand why companies always try to save a few dollars by including completely useless mounting hardware. When I tried to screw the lag screws into place (after drilling pilot holes), both of them sheared apart. Instead of using the included screws, I'd recommend going out and purchasing your own. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After the initial frustration, I was able to install the brackets using my own heavier duty lag screws that I had on hand from another project, so I raised my rating to two stars. I agree with the previous reviews that the installation instructions were inadequate. The instructions I had didn't specify the size of the included lag screws or the size of the required pilot hole (both of which are things you can figure out on your own but should really just be included in the instructions). Finally, the instructions say you can put up to 150 pounds on this mount, but I wouldn't feel safe standing underneath it with that much weight. Overall, it does a good job of storing a surfboard and fiberglass ladder, but the included hardware is a little cheap.
I shouldn't have been so hesitant in the first place! It's well-made, and the bolts that come with it are actually useful, unlike some of the cheaper hardware you might find. br>br>I was hesitant to purchase this because I didn't realize the mounting bracket could be turned so that I could mount the brackets on a 2x6 beam in the garage. As a result, the hardware is designed to be installed either parallel to the ceiling beams or along a single long running beam. br>br>In any case, this is a well-made piece. Thanks!.
Because of the high quality workmanship, it appears to have been manufactured in the United States. It was, however, most likely manufactured in China. I have no recollection of what happened. This item had to be installed in a 30-year-old garage with 2 inch-by-4-inch trusses running overhead. To better support the weight of the unit and the ladders, I used a 2 inch x 6 inch Douglas fir board on top of the lower truss boards. Instead of lag screws, I used quarter-inch x 2-inch bolts with nylon locking nuts to hold the unit together. The 2 inch x 6 inch board was then attached to the trusses with 3 inch deck screws. I'm very happy with the product and how simple it was to put together. I was able to install a very long ladder on one side and only a 6 foot ladder on the other, which had no effect on the unit's stability.
I don't usually gush about a product, but I will with this one (and no, I'm not affiliated with the seller). It was *extremely* simple to put together (just make sure the anchor bolts are inserted into the ceiling joists!). The spring buttons on the arms make it simple to remove them when needed. Without a step stool, I can fit an 8' ladder on either side, but the ladders are well above the cars' roofs. br>br>I made a wrack out of 2" x 4"s at my previous home, but this product saved me so much time that it paid for itself. I believe this is the best Amazon product I've ever bought.
Safety wire rope should be installed on the two hangers to supplement the installation's safety, similar to the wire that keeps appliances from falling over during earthquakes. If the lag bolts fail while carrying 120 lbs of ladders or any other material overhead, the entire storage assembly and ladders will collapse, potentially killing you. There should be a safety hanger, perhaps a strong wire cable with its own lag bolts, to catch the mounting assembly if the lag bolt connection fails.
br>While the shipping label was created on time, the item was never delivered. There is no evidence that FedEx picked it up. br>The item was shipped after two weeks of communication with the seller. It then arrived on time and did exactly what it was supposed to do.
My only complaint is that it should be adjusted lower to make access easier - it takes my 22 ft adjustable and 8 foot A frame ladders fine. The bigger ladders are a little tricky to get in and out of my garage because there isn't much clearance from the ceiling. However, once you're up, there's plenty of room beneath you!.
The installation of this rack was a breeze. From beginning to end, it took about 20 minutes. It's extremely durable, and mine currently holds one aluminum extension ladder and one 6-foot ladder. ladder made of fiberglass It's great that you can adjust the height. This book comes highly recommended.
