I bought two of these, but due to stud placement on the wall, I was only able to hang one of them. The other one will be hung in a different place. br>For starters, the ones that aren't perfect are stunning. This is without a doubt the most attractive hanger on the market. It's also the simplest, as it includes everything you'll need and can hold anything other than an e-book. bike. br>Above the bed, I hung my prized 1982 Shogun touring bike. With the racks and roll-up bags, this bike weighs nearly 40 pounds. When people see me riding my bike, they ask if I'm afraid it'll fall on me. No, I'm not one of them. I did a couple of pull-ups on the hanger after it was installed. It will hold that bike indefinitely if it can hold my 160 pounds without flinching. br>Just in case, I placed a rag under the top tube to protect the paint. I'm clumsy, and the bike is in great shape. ) If the bike hangs somewhere where it might be bumped, it would be simple to secure it with a strap. Perhaps a model with straps should be added by the designer. br>I wholeheartedly endorse. It's simple to hang, can hold a lot of weight, and bikes can be quickly mounted and dismounted!.
It still looks great and is incredibly sturdy for such a small mount, earning it five stars. However, if you want it to be level, see the tips below for some additional information not included in the installation instructions. A. br>br>B. br>br>C. br>br>D. The metal plate that attaches to the wall is NOT SQUARE in comparison to the piece on which the bike is mounted. Because I ***almost*** missed it, you can only have one part of it leveled - EITHER the metal plate against the wall OR the wood piece on which the bike is supported. Mine was out of square enough that the wood piece would have been visible even though the metal plate with anchor holes was perfectly level (hence "out of square"). br>If you want the wood piece to be level after you've found the stud and determined the height of the mount, follow these steps:
1. ONLY USE THE TOP SCREW - tighten but not completely (washer should still be movable/"loose")br>2. Place a level on the wood portion of the mount (where the bike sits)br>3. Make an indentation or mark the center of the bottom bolt hole after you've leveled that out. br>br>B. My handlebars and, by extension, my front tire collide with the wall. I just put the mount up, but I'm sure I'll have to clean it every time I ride up and down the stairs. It's entirely my fault for not double-checking my bike before buying it, as the dimensions listed in the listing are correct. If you have wide, straight handlebars, this is something to be aware of.
I purchased a quarantine bike without considering where it would be stored when I wasn't riding it. I was overjoyed to discover a bike storage solution that didn't turn my living room into a garage. Beautiful, sturdy product; I'm not a handywoman, but I had all the tools and information I needed to safely erect it myself. The thought and care that went into the instructions, packaging, and product made me feel like I got a good deal and that the craftsman is passionate about his craft and his customers.
It arrived as described and is even nicer in person than it appears on the website; I've been looking for a nice industrial/modern looking bike hanger for a long time and this is it. The quality is excellent; we will definitely recommend it and purchase it again for our next bicycle.
I saw this one and liked how simple it was, as well as how it was made in the United States. br>br>According to one review, the lack of a polyurethane finish was a disappointment. With that finish, I would not have bought it. Shine, in my opinion, will detract from the raw wood's beauty. br>br>Before purchasing, I had a few questions, and the seller responded quickly and helpfully. br>br>Because I installed mine into a wood stud, the process was relatively straightforward. Despite the fact that, as other reviews have stated, one of the screws' heads broke off. That meant stopping and going to a nearby hardware store the next day to match the screw, then returning home and starting over. My only suggestion is that the seller start including an extra screw or two in the package so that others don't have to waste time and energy looking for hardware to finish the installation. Regardless of the broken screw (and the hole in the wall with the screw stuck in it that I still need to cover and paint), I give it 5 stars because it is beautiful and functional. I chose the walnut cosmetic defect because I believe that some flaws in wood add character to it. Mine had no obvious flaws, which is fine. I consider it a win-win situation because I got the regular one for a lower price.
Unfortunately, while installing one of the screws, the head snapped off, leaving the rest of the screw stuck in the wall. We won't be able to use this product, so we'll have to live with two holes in the wall. If you're thinking about getting this wall mount, I recommend getting stronger screws and washers than the ones that come with it!.
It's a great design that's both simple and elegant. Sturdy. When using a crescent wrench to tighten the lag bolts, one snapped off. I couldn't believe it. I went to Home Depot and found one that was almost identical and it worked perfectly. I'm surprised they send such poor-quality bolts; I've never experienced this before. Overall, I like it and am relieved that I am no longer colliding with my bike, which was leaning against the wall!.
However, due to the limited space, it was difficult to remove it from the mount and reinstall it. I decided to bring my bike indoors, but due to a lack of space, I wanted it to be in a convenient location that could also serve as a statement piece with my art collection, so I used anchors to support the bolts provided, which can support heavy objects. I put my weight down in it to see if it would budge, but it didn't. This purchase was a success, and the small dinosaur goes well with my green and purple tires.
