We were only able to fit two bikes due to the width of the handlebars. There are three 4" wide slots for bike tires, with 8" wide spaces between them.
It has the capacity to hold three bikes at once, whether they are for children or adults.
Mine is on the ground; I keep it in my garage and it works fine. It's simple to keep track of my bicycles and other sporting equipment. It comes highly recommended!
Hello there, the bicycles are self-standing.

If you have disc brakes, this is not the bike rack for you. The slots are too deep for disc brake wheels, and if not used carefully, they can bend the discs. The slots should have been placed a little lower and higher off the ground. It's fine for kids' bikes, but not for mountain or gravel bikes, which usually have disc brakes. Backing your bike into this rack is not recommended because the side will come into contact with the derailleur and may cause damage if it is knocked around.
My daughter has a large collection of bicycles and scooters, and I needed a way to organize them. This rack was simple to put together, and I was able to finish it in under 20 minutes using my drill. Now we have a system in place to keep everything in order. When she outgrows those, we'll be able to fit our bikes in there as well.
Our children's outdoor toys are kept off the floor because we live in an apartment. It helps to keep the bikes upright, and our scooters can easily fit in there as well. Balls and helmets can finally escape our cramped closet space now that our bicycle tire pump is hanging off the side. br>br>It was also very simple to put together.
For two bikes, this is perfect. This was the simplest unit to put together out of all the "some assembly required" items I've ever bought. Everything is bidirectional and all of the bolts are the same size. It took me about 5 minutes to put this together. I'm not sure three adult bicycles would fit, but it can easily accommodate two. It's a little light, but I keep it in my garage and consider that a benefit because it's easy to move when I need to fit both cars in.
It's a nice rack, but it's not compatible with bikes that are 700c or 29 inches in diameter. To move the bar back three inches, holes had to be redrill. Take a look at the images below to see how things were before and after. The bar used to hit the rear derailleur and disc brakes. br>br>It took about 30 minutes to fix the problem.
I recently purchased this bike rack and am very pleased with it. It was very simple to put together, which I like. I spent about 5 hours on it. To go out together, it will take 10 minutes. It's also extremely durable - I've purchased bike racks in the past that have collapsed under the weight of my bikes, but this one looks like it will stay put. I was blown away.
br>br>The only problem is that this method does not always work for all bikes. We bought our adolescent a nicer, more adult-oriented mountain bike for Christmas, complete with the nicer "disc" braking system. However, because it has a "disc" braking system, you should park the bike backwards to avoid damaging or warping the (front) disc brake. When you park with your back tire on the ground, your gears are practically pressed against the bars. In retrospect, I should have ordered a different bike stand to avoid this problem.
I put it together in under an hour, but one piece was welded incorrectly (see photo). My husband simply drilled a new hole because the bad weld had affected the screw hole. It seemed like a better option to me than returning and replacing the item. br>br>It's light, but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. It is made of powder. The surface is coated, so it should hold up well in the elements. I'm excited to have a place for the kids to put their belongings!.
