Will this be able to stand alone in a garage or will it need to be drilled into the ground?

Yes, it will be able to stand on its own. This is a significant amount of work. @50lbs. It maintains its position on its own. The bike rack is extremely well-made and sturdy. It comes highly recommended from me!

Is it possible to move it around, for example, if we put it in the driveway but occasionally need to move it out of the way?

Yes, it is lightweight enough to move around with ease.

Is it possible to fit cruiser bikes with wider tires on each of these models?

It is dependent on the bicycle. Between the posts, there is a 3 inch gap. Our townie electra beach cruisers are perfect for the job. My next-door neighbor has a very large dog. A fat tire bike with a 4 inch width is available. It would not be appropriate.

Is this rack system compatible with mountain bikes with 29-inch wheels?

Yes, it will fit 29" mountain bike wheels. The bike simply does not fit as far into the rack as it should. Fat tire bikes are also possible, but they will not fit between the 3" vertical bars - They will, however, fit between the 3" spaces in the larger spaces.

Doesn't do what it says on the tin

Although the product claims to hold five bikes, this bike rack cannot accommodate five adult bikes. All I can fit are three adult bikes or two of each adult and child's bike. I also had a product that was double shipped, and I was required to pay the shipping cost to return one rack, which was nearly the same as the product's cost. I was not pleased.

Nice unit, easy to assemble; it can easily hold three bikes, or five if two of them are stacked backwards or are really small child bikes. We only had three bikes, so we had to make do with what we had. …. exactly what I was looking for.

It's of good quality, but you'll probably want to secure it with bolts

This works well, but it does move a little when you put bikes in and take them out. It'll be a world of difference if you anchor it to the concrete.

It's a good fit for us. It would be great if it could actually fit five bikes in there. Only three bikes can fit in the space.

Although it is not the heaviest, it does the job admirably and at an unbeatable price. We use this in student housing, and the students put it together themselves, saying it was very simple.
