I've gathered cotton samples from the blanket with the help of our cat, who has graciously kneaded it for the sole purpose of determining if the blanket is Oeko-Tex certified. certified by tek I tested two batches of samples with our Thames and Kosmos chemistry set to look for irregularities and inconsistencies in the fabric to see if the blanket could meet Oeko-Tex standards. standards for tek certification So far, the results have proven to be unreliable, possibly due to the methods used to collect the samples or the testing instrument's own reliability.

I've been cursing myself for not getting a weighted blanket for my autistic 5-year-old daughter and sensory-seeking son sooner. My daughter hasn't slept through the night in years, and I couldn't believe she slept for 10 hours on the first NIGHT she used this weighted blanket! I searched high and low for a washable kids weighted blanket because we all know kids spill things or have accidents at night, and this is the only washable kids weighted blanket I've found on Amazon. The sleepy animal prints are adorable, and the cover is incredibly soft. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this weighted blanket. It works! The best Amazon purchase I've ever made! You will notice a difference in your child's sleeping pattern if you invest in their life.
When it arrived, I realized it was way too short for him, because he is tall, and this blanket size is better suited to toddlers IMO (under 4' tall), but because the guidelines are weight-based, I decided to keep it anyway. This was determined to be the correct size for him (8-inch) because of the need for safety. He is thin and only carries 12% of body weight). He liked the sleepy dinos blanket, but after speaking with Sweetzer and Orange's excellent customer service rep - Joy - I chose to return the blanket and replace it with a larger, heavier one that will cover my son's feet. I'm not sure if it'll be too heavy for him, but I'm going to give it a shot and will update this review once we've had it for a while. In any case, Joy refunded me the $10 shipping fee I paid to return the first blanket, so I wasn't out of pocket for the additional cost. High-quality materials on the blanket, and hopefully, it will help my anxious sleeper, as it has so many others who have written of its virtues!.
He had trouble falling asleep at night and wouldn't sleep in his own bed for more than an hour before becoming irritable. I kept getting up to check on him the first night we used it because he slept like a rock for 5 hours alone in his bed!! He slept even longer the next night, and when he awoke, he quietly walked down the hall, dragging his new blanket towards our room. My 8-year-old granddaughter has trouble turning off her brain so she can get a good night's sleep, and she hasn't slept for years. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with ADHD. I'd heard about these blankets and how they help children with ADHD, autism, and other conditions relax. I decided to get one for my daughter because it was too expensive for her to buy one herself. I was hoping it would aid her in getting a better night's sleep. My daughter said she got the blanket on Christmas Day, crawled under it, and slept for three hours, the longest nap she'd had in years, and is sleeping better than she has in a long time. I'm hoping it continues to be like this! So far, the money I've spent has been the best I've ever spent.
This blanket is absolutely gorgeous. My daughter, who is autistic and has sensory issues, enjoys rubbing the bumps on the bottom of the mink. The colors are bright and appealing. My only complaint is that I wish there were more ties on the inside to better secure the insert blanket. I only got it yesterday, but it has already proven to be well worth the money. br>br>*Update: It's been three days since we got it. She's slept through the night every night since she's been here. Bedtime has always been a struggle for him, with him getting up multiple times to avoid falling asleep or waking up multiple times throughout the night unable to stay asleep. As a result of his lack of sleep, he developed some daytime behaviors. I even had to start giving him melatonin because he would not fall asleep for hours after being put to bed. He's been sleeping much better since he started using his weighted blanket almost a week ago. He's been falling asleep within an hour of being placed in his bed. He hasn't woken up since he fell asleep. Even during the day, he has been napping. And his demeanor has improved noticeably. This is the best purchase I've made in a long time, and the product's quality is excellent value.
Every night, it took me 2 hours to fall asleep. At daycare, he also had trouble falling asleep. Our daycare provider recommended that we get him a sleep study because he was having so much trouble sleeping. Even though I was tossing and turning the first night, it only took me half an hour to fall asleep. I didn't toss and turn for the next few nights!
