This blanket came at the perfect time. My daughter may have ADHD, and I struggle with her behavior, sensory issues, and nighttime issues; however, this blanket arrived and has significantly reduced tantrums. It was a lot of money for this single mother to spend on one blanket, but it was well worth it. My other two children fight over it, so it's time to start putting money aside for two more! br>br>Recent changes: br>br> My daughter came down with the flu and puked on the blanket; I washed it and it was as good as new. So enamored!.
Sensory Processing Disorder and Mild Autism Symptoms are both present in my son's life. We tried a pressure vest on him, but he didn't seem to like it. He enjoys the weighted blanket, and it has helped him with his anxieties and tantrums, as well as making him happier and more productive throughout the day. A neighbor had given it to me as a birthday present. This is an excellent tool for soothing and assisting with physical and occupational therapies. This is a fantastic gift idea for children and adults with special needs!.
This was a game-changer for my son in terms of getting a good night's sleep. It is a huge hit with him. He'd always had trouble sleeping at night, but now he's sleeping through the night (every night for a month) and even sleeping 30-plus hours. In the morning, give yourself an extra 60 minutes. He'll also use it during the day to calm down and refocus on his schoolwork if he's feeling anxious or restless.
My 4. My great nephew, who is five years old and has autism, is nonverbal. He was recently diagnosed with cancer. He could easily become overstimulated and was a poor sleeper, as is common with autism. He will easily sleep through the night now that I bought him this blanket and gave it to him as a Christmas present. It's a miracle worker, according to my niece (his mother). )br> When he's overstimulated, he'll often remember to go get it himself, but if he doesn't, she'll go get it off his bed and wrap it around him while softly talking to him or simply holding him, which helps him relax. He'll be playing or watching a favorite cartoon before we know it. br> This blanket is the perfect weight, and he is normally sensitive to textures as well, but he adores the softness and texture of his! Thanks!.
My autistic son, who also suffers from sensory processing disorder, adores this blanket and sleeps with it. With the weighted blanket, he sleeps longer and more soundly. It also serves to relax him. This blanket is actually his favorite, despite the fact that he refuses to use blankets. Definitely recommend to anyone who has a child on the spectrum or even a child who has trouble sleeping or calming down.
This is what I use with my two-year-old. It's the ideal size (not too small, not too big) and cleans up quickly. I followed the instructions and washed it on cold. I dried it on low (instructions recommend air drying or a brief cycle on low for fluffing) and it appeared to be in good condition.
My 2. So far, the 5-year-old has enjoyed it. I haven't washed it yet because I just got it, but it appears to be in good condition. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Every night, my daughter continues to sleep with it. I washed it after she peed on it in an accident, and it came out looking great. With lukewarm water, do a gentle cycle. I hung it to dry outside on our deck railing, and it was ready to use the next evening.
I liked the material, but the measurements are off by more than a couple of inches, so I can't give it five stars.
