Spray starch is an option. However, too much starch will stiffen the cover over time, causing it to stain and wear out more quickly. I'm a quilter, and I occasionally use spray starch on the fabrics I'm working with. When I'm using spray starch on something I'm piecing, I usually place a towel on top of the cover.
Because the cover has a cord inside the hem that you pull snugly, it fits a variety of ironing board styles. It's easiest to adjust and tighten the cord by laying the board on the floor and on top of the opened cover.
I believe you'd get the 19-inch model. It ties off at the bottom, so it should be fine.
One that is 15x48 is made by this company.

Because the temperature of your iron is one part of the heat transferred to the garment, a superior ironing board cover like this one protects your clothes from high heat. The heat generated by the metal frame of the board is transferred to the surface of the board. Padding is required not only to aid in the smoothing of the finish, but also to absorb and transfer heat away from the garment. Why wouldn't you spend your money on a tool that makes ironing easier and more effective?.
This is the first cover that actually fits my oversized ironing board, which I use three times per week. Bright blue color, excellent fabric; arrived wrinkled but quickly smoothed out. It is something that I would recommend to anyone.
OMG! For YEARS, I've been searching for a high-quality cover to fit my extra-large Polder ironing board. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm so impressed with the quality and fit of this cover that I'm going to buy another right away so I'll have it when I need it in a few years. Because I am a quilter, I iron every day. Most covers are a little too narrow, so I've had to secure them with those elastic strips and clips. that hardly ever work and frequently break This is not the case. This cover is well-padded, large enough to comfortably wrap all of the edges, has elastic in the right places, and velcro strips that run under the board to tighten the cover. This is a cover that is well worth the money.
Although the pad appears to be well-made and fits comfortably on the ironing board, I found it to be quite thin. I'm not sure what "triple thick" means to the manufacturer, but I had to "beef up" the thickness by using one layer from the previous pad that was replaced to ensure that the metal grids on the ironing table section would not telegraph through to whatever fabric I was pressing. Aside from that, I'm satisfied with my purchase.
The padding is thick, but the back Velcro strap was undone and stuck to the padding's underside, ripping the fibers from the padding and leaving them hanging. Washing would exacerbate the damage to the fibers already present. When I returned a damaged item, I was charged a $17 restocking fee.
I wasn't sure what size I needed from TIVIT, and I may have ordered the wrong one, but I was able to get a tight fit over the top of my board, so I'm very pleased. This is made of wonderful material, and the padding is built in. From now on, I'll only buy this brand because it's worth the money.
I'm glad I inquired because they pointed me in the direction of this cover. The cover is of excellent quality and fits perfectly. I know it's a silly thing, but I'm glad the search is over! Thank you, Tivit, for your excellent abs and prompt customer service! It really makes a difference!.
