Questions & Answers

Is this just a cover, or does it include a pad?

This is a cover that has a small amount of padding built into the back. I didn't go out and purchase a new pad.

Where does this come from? Thanks! ?

Wikipedia states that: Headquarters are located at: Valkenswaard is a town in the Dutch province of Valkenswaard. br>This is the most substantial ironing board I've ever used as an adult; it reminds me of the welded-together ironing board we had as kids in the 1960s. Almost impervious to damage! It comes highly recommended from me! Furthermore, I prefer this type of cover because it appears to be more durable.

Will my iron board, which measures 15x48 inches but is 49 inches long, be acceptable?

My best guess is that you can tighten it underneath by pulling and/or tying it more tightly. To be sure, I'd check with the manufacturer. However, it is well-made.

After a year and ten days, my cover is dissolving. According to the listing, it comes with a two-year guarantee. How do I make the guarantee work?

Please accept my apologies; I have no idea. The U.S. is represented on the front cover. If my memory serves me correctly, it was something along those lines. I've had my cover for more than two years and it's still in good shape.

Mislead
3/5

It was, after all, returned. I was extremely dissatisfied with the outcome. To begin with, the packaging for this product stated that it was a "complete set" (when you zoom in on the packaging). Both the cover and the cushion/padding are included. However, when it was delivered to me, the outside of the package stated that it was only the cover (rather than the "complete set" depicted in the picture). The padding had to be purchased separately, and the packaging specifically stated that it should not be used without it. So I went to Amazon and looked for another Brabantia ironing board cover padding ("a complete set"), which I found for the same price as the one I had without the padding. As a result, take caution when purchasing. If you're looking for a complete set that includes both the cover and the padding, check out this Amazon item: Size C Extra Thick Felt from Brabantia This is the one that is truly a complete set: Foam Underlay Ironing Board Cover, 49" x 18"br> When you zoom in on the picture of the packaging, it says it's a complete set. The first one I bought had an incorrect picture of the packaging. br>THE EXTRA THICK FELT AND FOAM UNDERLAY IRONING BOARD COVER MUST SAY "EXTRA THICK FELT AND FOAM UNDERLAY IRONING BOARD COVER," and that is the one to purchase. The best part is this: the same cost.

Not taut; The foam breaks down
3/5

I've decided to return this review since I first wrote it. The pad is so badly sewn that no matter how hard you pull on the flimsy strings that are supposed to pull it taut and create a flat, wrinkle-free surface, it will not pull taut. I'm not pleased- I purchased this to replace the cover that came with my Brabantia ironing board, as the original pad's foam had disintegrated, shredded, and fallen through the board's mesh. I assumed that 'felt' meant that there was a felt layer beneath the foam that a) provided additional padding and b) prevented the worn foam from falling through the mesh. Wrong; I don't see any felt underneath or over the foam, and it's only a matter of time before this foam disintegrates as well, leaving shreds of foam rubber on the floor for me to vacuum. 0 out of 5 stars.

Tightening mechanism for "Dental Floss," as well as a stupid manufacturer's label sewn to the work surface
4/5

When I first received this product, my first thought was, "How am I going to get it to stay put on my ironing board?" But if you "keep the faith" and keep pulling on the little bit of "dental floss" that they provide around the perimeter to tighten the fit, it will eventually tighten up - sufficient, if not flawless And, contrary to my expectations, neither the "dental floss" nor any other component of the product broke while being tightened. However, contrary to the image shown, the manufacturer has sewn a large manufacturer's label to the "useful" working face of the product, significantly reducing the useful work surface area - cutting into the big end of the usable work surface by about four inches! Who in their right mind would do something like that? I was able to pull out the threads and remove the label with only a few minutes of effort, but seriously, How Stupid Is That?.

Amazon, on the other hand, receives five stars from me
3/5

Amazon reacted in an incredibly short amount of time! Tonight is the second time I've received a replacement. Thank you so much, Amazon. Your efforts have been greatly appreciated by me. br>br>However, it has nothing to do with Amazon; this product is simply bad and appears to be extremely cheap, implying that we would be wasting our money. However, if it were only ten dollars, I believe I would be willing to compromise on quality. br>br>The first was a defect, and the second had large brown stains on it. br>br>I'm leaving a comment on the first comment. I hope it proves to be of assistance to you: I recently received a replacement. br>br> And there are some BIG DIRTY STAINS this time! What a let-down! br>br>The first had a flaw, and another didn't move at all. Giving it a shot took me more than 30 minutes. Finally, I realized that it had always been doomed from the start. br>br>The second one appears to have been used for a long time, and there are several large, looks-like-it-has-been-used-for-a-long-time-looking-like-it-has-be dark spots that look like they've been burned br>The item appears to have been in stock for many years. br>br>At the very least, Amazon was quick to respond after the first complaint. And the new one arrived two days later, and I was very pleased with their prompt response. Amazon is concerned about our well-being! You did an excellent job! br>br>However, it irritates and disappoints me that even the new replacement was not in perfect working order to provide consumers in general. This is the first time I've ever had a similar experience. br>br>I've used Brabantia products for a long time and have always been pleased with them. I am, in fact, a regular customer of theirs. They stood for "QUALITY" in the past. br>br>However, the quality of the product is subpar. The fabric is extremely thin and appears to be of poor quality. However, it all boils down to good intentions and genuineness. These are more important than the quality of the company because they represent the entire company. br>br>After being delivered twice in a row, it took a lot of time, money, and most importantly, huge disappointments. Time is money, and we can't buy it. br>br>However, despite all the bad luck, thank you very much for your efforts, Amazon!.

I bought the cover as a backup for the one that came with the ironing board, and it fits perfectly
4/5

Because the pad is thick, it works well. The fabric is not as sturdy or tightly woven as I would prefer, which is my only reservation about recommending the cover. A heavier, tighter-woven fabric (light canvas or poplin) would be more durable and serviceable. Given the cost, rather than buying a new cover, I'll probably use my old one as a pattern to make a new one with better fabric in the future.
