There is a tricky element to this When there is no fire in the fireplace I am assuming that it would be okay for liquid bioethanol fuel that is NRG friendly, which I believe is the cleanest form of bioethanol fuel. It is made of bioethanol. Considering it is relatively light in volume, it might be too light to penetrate mineral wool and create the desired effect on your wall.
