There is no need to use an adapter since it is already connected. In a standard propane tank, this piece is mounted to the inside of the valve. Contrary to what you expect, it tightens The clockwise direction.

This thing has a bit of a love/hate relationship with me. The software does everything it is supposed to do, and it does it well. One of the best things I've ever tasted. It's the best. It's amazing how this thing works. Then, pile logs on top and make a nice fire in a few minutes. Make sure that the valve is on low, If the valve is opened to full blast, it must be for home defense or to fight off zombies. It would be so great to buy 10 of them if that is the case!.
