It's a deafening noise. It is equipped with a strong fan. Not only does it have a fan noise, but it also has an annoying whistling noise - even when running at the slowest possible speed It's like walking into a room with a giant vacuum cleaner. I try to block out the noise by talking on the phone, and watching television is not an option. It can be found in the living room. In the bedroom, the noise would be unbearable. It does, however, help to cool the room and even the kitchen.
In no way is this useful for New York City. This is a fan that costs $300. Even though it is more powerful than the average fan, it falls far short of cooling a room. At best, you'll be blasted with a strong blast of hot air.
The fan unit is light, but when the water reservoir in the lower unit is full, it is quite heavy.
The water reservoir has a drain plug at the bottom. It's also simple to empty the reservoir without the rest of the unit by rolling it separately to a tub or outside. I really like mine; I just set it up a few days ago and it's already working perfectly. It is critical to read all of the operating instructions that come with the unit in order to get the best results. The same information is also available to read before purchasing on the Amazon purchase site.

I like how big the water tank is. Does exactly what it says on the tin. It is extremely loud and difficult to roll or move. , bought to use in the living room while the central heat and air unit was being replaced. Because of the noise, it is not recommended for long-term use; it was difficult to converse or watch television while it was running. Because of the noise, I would not buy it again at this price.
Despite some reviewers' claims to the contrary, this product does work. However, you will be disappointed if you expect it to function in the same way as an air conditioner. br>br>It took some time for me to figure out the best location for the unit in order to maximize efficiency and find the right pump setting. br>br>For the intake, it must be near a source of warm fresh air, as well as a window, door, or other exterior vent on the opposite end of your space. Otherwise, there will be no cooling effect and the space will become extremely humid. br>br>An evaporate cooler works by sucking warm air into the system through a wet cooling pad. As warm air passes through the pad, it evaporates, causing the air to cool. If the air being drawn in is too hot or humid, evaporation will not occur, and the air will not be cooled. Only warm, dry climates can benefit from evaporative coolers. br>br>You should also set your pump to the lowest effective setting, which means it should only wet the pad and return as little water as possible to the tank. The reason for this is that the cool water returning to the tank lowers the temperature of the water, causing it to evaporate more slowly. As a result, the temperature drops. In addition, the humidity level has risen. br>br>One of the reasons I gave it four stars rather than five is because the remote was missing. Fortunately, I can simply operate it using the unit's buttons. My space is a little large for the unit but as you can see from my pic it is blowing out 72 and my current outside temp is 2092 with 9% humidity and my current outside It's in my garage, with the garage door cracked by about an inch.
Our house is located outside of Denver and does not have air conditioning. We were unable to sleep at night due to the extreme heat in our room- Despite the fact that the window was ajar. This cooler has excellent fan speed options; we frequently set it to low at night and it serves us well. Particularly with the ice tray, the cooling works well. Every two days or so, we fill it up. Depending on how often we use water and set it to the cool setting. The only thing that is a problem is the level of noise. br>br> Except when we're watching a movie or television, it doesn't bother us. During the night, the white noise is soothing. I can see how it would be a problem for people who are sensitive to noise at night.

My room is small, so it can be noisy, but I zen out to the sound, and it's more like a lab than a room anyway. HONEYWELL, you did a fantastic job. You completely changed my perspective on your company by changing my fundamental beliefs.
It works almost flawlessly and exactly as it should. I've had it for about two months and keep it set to cool all the time. My only complaint is that the holes for the water to pass through to wet the thick pad should have a second row of holes and a little more flow to properly wet the pad, and I believe it would cool even better. br>br> It lowers my room temperature by about 15 degrees even when the temperature outside is 103 degrees and the humidity is around 50 percent, which is better than nothing and much less expensive than running the air conditioner, but a degree or two higher and the air conditioner would be turned on. br>br> As long as you don't move it around after filling, we fill it all the way to the top with no spills. The swing mode, which oscillates the air, worked flawlessly as well. I can easily feel down the hallway over 25 feet away with the air volume (CFM) set to high. br>br>Would highly recommend if you have a basic understanding of how an evaporative cooler works.
When using the ice feature in a humid environment, it still works fine. I stand in front of it on cool/low-power when it's hot outside or when I get home from work. It's a good medium. Also, I was able to run this unit for 6 days straight (using the same settings as above) before having to refill the tank. I was also surprised at how much less expensive it was than some of the units with fewer features. It can be used for a variety of household tasks, such as bathing animals with the fan only feature, which dried out my medium-haired dog in less than 2 hours, as well as my cat who was left out in the rain. If you need to cool more than 500 square feet, you should invest $2000 in a more powerful unit. Honeywell has done a fantastic job!

Moreover, the capacity does not appear to be consistent with the stated capacity (5 gallons). actual vs. hypothetical 8 gals. stated). The pump, on the other hand, comes with a unique feature. It starts out at full power (to ensure that the media is thoroughly wetted), then gradually reduces to half (or less) power. This means a fully charged reservoir will last 10 to 12 hours. br>br>This is my second unit. The first was that the control panel stopped working after only 60 days. Honeywell (and Amazon) quickly rectified the situation by sending me a replacement unit. Excellent service to customers.
