Because the issue appears to be a design flaw, returning the item for replacement would not be a good option unless the design has been changed. The "fix," in my opinion, was relatively simple. If you're talking about water running down the media to a point just above the hose/float inlet, where it then runs out and down the outside of the reservoir, I discovered that removing the mesh screen on the side element and then slightly compressing the media at that corner allows the water to continue down the inside of the reservoir rather than run out the side, with no significant impact on the unit's performance because you only need to compress a small amount of the media. br>I'm hoping that this solves your issue.
It is entirely dependent on the price per kilowatt-hour that you pay. (KWH) per hour It only has a power consumption of 120 watts. So 2. A daily consumption of 880 KWH. It's just under $0.01 with my power rates. 50 a day.
There is, in fact, a float. Make sure the seller isn't Spreetail before making a purchase. They only accept returns for 30 days, and their customer service is practically non-existent!
That wasn't the case with mine, either. Because of multiple issues with the unit, I had to return it.

br>br>More recently, we needed one for the bedroom, and since the other one was still working so well, we decided to buy this one because of the brand loyalty and lower price point. br>br>It's not silent, but it's certainly quieter than the large one in the living room (which I consider to be a white noise machine). br>br>It's incredibly light to lift and move, but it also has wheels for easy maneuverability. It was a breeze to put together. br>br> From unboxing to running, it should take no more than 5 minutes. The front vents (like the vents in your car) are also easy to move to whatever position you want. br>br>The ice packs and remote are a nice addition! br>br>In addition, the side filters are easy to remove for cleaning or replacement, and the manual includes a list of all parts in case anything needs to be replaced. br>br>Overall, great for smaller rooms (our living room is an open floor plan, so this would not cool it), but I highly recommend it for a smaller room like a study or bedroom.
To begin with, it was not even deserving of a single star. It did not come with any casters. It didn't work right away because the cord was wrapped around the fan! To get the fan to spin, we had to take off the back and unplug the cord. You couldn't read the machine's digital readout panel because it was too dark. The louvers didn't work (they didn't stay in place or move back and forth) and the continuous water (if you wanted to hook up a hose) didn't work because the float was installed incorrectly and it leaked! It had no way of knowing when the water level was rising. So much information has been leaked! This is a unit that should not be purchased.
We live in Arizona, so having a patio by the pool in the summer is a must. We had the older, taller model and decided to replace it with this one because it was smaller and lighter. It does not obstruct our view and makes movement easier. Even without the addition of an ice pack to the top of the unit, this one produces extremely cold air. This unit is quieter than our previous one, and we like that it can be connected directly to a hose; however, it does require frequent filling (I use it frequently when I'm outside with the dog). You don't really need a remote, but it's handy to have when you don't feel like reaching for the unit. My only gripe is that one of the two units we received had a leak in the blue ice packs. We already have some that will work if needed, so I tossed them out. It made me wonder if it had been a reconditioned unit that had been returned. It was simple to clean up in the end, and no permanent stains were left behind. A satisfied customer! I'm spending a lot more time outside now than I was previously.
This evaporative cooler does exactly what it says it will. It effectively cools our outdoor patio area, particularly when the temperature remains below 90 degrees F. When the temperature rises above 80 degrees, we put ice packs in it, which helps us stay cool. br>br>One thing to keep in mind is that if you don't have access to a water hose that can be connected directly to the unit (as we don't), you'll have to fill the unit with a bucket of water on a regular basis. It can consume a lot of water depending on the humidity setting you choose.
This evaporative cooler meets all of my expectations. br>The lowest two settings are quiet, while the "high" setting is a little louder but not too bad. br>It comes well packaged and fully assembled (you only need to add the casters on the bottom). br>We live in the mountains of SW Colorado, where we do get some hot days (we have fairly dry air here), and the unit cools whatever room we need - During the day, we keep the living room cool, and in the evening, we move it to our bedroom.
This must be reversed. It was simple to put together. When I turned on the pump, however, it began to shoot water out of the side panel and the front, all over the floor. This weekend, I was in desperate need of it, as well.
This unit has only recently arrived. It looks great, and I considered getting the next size up, but the cooling was the same, according to the Amazon page. Not so! When I received it, the box stated that it cools 700 square feet, not 950 as stated on the website, so I set it up and it provides a nice flow of air but does not cool at all. There isn't any moisture in the air, it appears. The pump is functional, but it is inefficient. I'm having trouble getting the lower luvers to point out. They cut off the air flow in the lower half. I'd like to keep the unit because it's attractive, but it's not cool enough for me. I'm going to exchange it for a size larger.
It does an excellent job of cooling a large area. If you need moisture in extremely dry areas, the low setting is ideal for sleeping. We went with the smaller one, which is equally as good but only has two settings. This is the perfect size, with a variety of settings and a remote control that works flawlessly. And. in contrast to the bigger ones It continues to be appealing.
