Yes, the device can be taken anywhere. There's some fan noise, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. If you want to run it all night, make sure it's fully charged and set to a low setting. If the unit runs out of water, it will make a louder noise, which may wake you up. br>I love mine and use it to reduce the load on my air conditioner at home during the summer.

I was a little hesitant to read some of the reviews, but I realized that some of the reviewers must not be very knowledgeable about swamp coolers. This is a fantastic evaporative cooler for the money! As with any swamp cooler, it must be primed first, which means turning on the pump action for a few minutes to saturate the filter with water before turning the dial to the fan with water drop symbol. The knob indicators are backwards, according to several reviews I read on this site. This is incorrect; the knob is fully functional when used as intended. The prime function pump is represented by a water drop, and there are two fan-only settings (High and Low), as well as two fan-plus-pump settings (Low and High), before the off switch. br>br>I like how the water indicator is on the front of the unit to show how much water is in the cooler, because swamp coolers only work if there is water in the cooler. This machine has a nice 5 gallon tank, and it does suck up a lot of water (about 4 gallons in 4 hours) on the High setting (which is normal). The noise level is similar to any other crap cooler we've used before, and I actually like the soothing waterfall sound it makes. br>The ONLY con so far is that the door to fill the machine with water is a cheap little plastic door with a flimsy plastic tab handle to open/close that will almost certainly break, but it's been over 100° here in the southwest this week and without A/C this unit has kept our Adobe house (which traps heat) at a comfortable 75 degrees. For inside use, place it in front of an open window/door with a cracked window to avoid humid mugginess, just as you would with any other portable swamp cooler. We are excited to use this evap cooler during the impending heat wave, and we may even buy another for outside use now. Additionally, the shipment arrived one day early! Great value for money, and I highly recommend it if you live in a dry climate.
This is the cheapest swamp cooler on the market at this price point; it doesn't come with a remote or many fancy features, but it does have two redeeming qualities. The fan motor is extremely powerful, with twice the power of a tower fan, so even if you're not using it as a cooler, it's a windy machine! They also come with a shower hose connector, which makes filling up a breeze. Finally, it's ideal for people like me who live near a high desert!.

I also appreciate the fact that it now has the option of using water or simply blowing air. br>br>The only drawback is that the air is fairly concentrated, which means it only blows in one direction. To get the air, you almost have to be right in the middle of it. br>br>Since then, I've learned that some of them have an internal rotation/oscillating mechanism. br>br>In addition, I should have purchased a larger model to cool a larger area. However, this is my fault. br>br>The price is a little high. However, once you're out in the scorching Texas sun, you'll agree that it's well worth the money.
I bought this small cooler because a friend of mine has three of them and they're all great. He's in his second season with them and hasn't had any issues. I've discovered that putting only a couple of gallons of water in the reservoir cools it down much faster than putting 5 full gallons in. My small off-road vehicle is kept cool in this cooler. the- The temperature inside the grid camper is about 20 degrees cooler than outside, and it uses very little electricity. When I try to nap in front of it, I have to cover myself with a light blanket to stay comfortable. Overall, I would recommend this cooler to anyone who needs to keep cool in a small space or simply wants a portable cooler to sit in front of. It's a hit with my dog, as well.
Update: 11/16/20. This appears to be more of a powerful fan than anything else. Because I live in California, I intend to purchase a portable air conditioner at some point, but for the time being, this will suffice. Advantages: br>br> br>br>I put a few drops of essential oil in the room, and it smells great. br>br>- With the wheels included, it is light and mobile. br>br>Cons: br>br>Things aren't as clear in the instructions manual, such as how much water to fill if any, and the compartment to pull out to fill water in was a little difficult for me to pull out at first due to the lack of a handle. I had to pry it out with a knife, but once I did, it was simple. Plastic is used to construct the cooler. br>br> br>br>If you overfill it with water, water will begin to pour out of the cooler's back. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The cooler is still functional after three weeks of use, but I didn't notice until I looked at the sides and decided to open the cooler to get back inside that the plastic had begun to crack again on its own. Instead, I wish I had put money aside to buy a better cooler.
As a result, you'll need to replenish your supplies on a regular basis. br>Do not buy this product; I'd return it, but I'd have to pay shipping costs, which I'm not sure how much they'd be. On the plus side, it arrived three days earlier than expected.

I bought it after a friend recommended it, and I'm very pleased with it. We have it in our backyard in Arizona and enjoy it every evening. Because we live in Arizona, the water from the hose is hot, filling the unit is a little difficult. However, the output is of high quality.
